Hey y'all ,
thursday night here in blighty . Friday tomorrow , get ready for the bewitching hour … whats you plan ?
Mine used to be :-
going home late and going to bed early ,
avoiding the supermarket on friday afternoon / evenings .
Making sure i had a freezer with food in it and plenty of milk for tea ,
If i felt a craving i'd get in the shower and have a long soak ,
Ignore the craving and read a book / post on SR , phone someone who rambles on for a while .
If you go out for a walk leave money and cards at home .

All these things helped me through , they don't solve it but they can take the edge of it ,

Bestwishes, m

*hmmm checks rules*

It's my considered opinion after checking the rules that ice cream can be a useful tool to get you through , until ice cream addiction is causing us issues . ( look up raw ice cream made with bananas ( thanks caihong))

I gave up on the ice cream after 3 or 4 month sober as i'm too mean to buy new trousers ..

Hey Weasel, is that anything like a fiddle? You know I'm a southern guy.

OK... back from dinner. Well... hmmm... how should I put this?

I have had better meals at places with talking animatronics hanging on the wall than this place. Far far from a food snob. Rather easy going. Not the kind to send anything back.

The mussels were mushy and fishy. The steak was gummy and a chore to cut. The seared brussels sprout were the size of big peas.

Oh well!!! Off to the next place in two weeks. I should have known. I was there about 8 years ago and the steak then tasted like it was cooked in a house fire.

I have ice cream bars in the freezer so all is not lost!

Good to see everyone on the sober bus. Great music! good humor! and it's not even friday!!!

K

Yes sir a fiddle! I live in an apartment so I got an electric full size fiddle that I can wear ear phones to save everyone from my novice bow!

Should be fun! I started with just learning the parts and understanding how to tune and set it up proper. If I find it something I can do I will take "official" lessons in town.

Nothing better than a fiddle playing weasel!!!

I'm in...already on page THREE and I'm just posting.

My kids are on the edge of being too old to go, but my daughter is dressing up as Castille from Supernatural and my son has one of those red body suits. At least he can get away with wearing a skin tight suit. Last year my daughter didn't go because she was "too old" but this year I think she doesn't want to grow up so fast after all. There will be some drinking among parents walking around but I'm ready for that with my big cup of tea, seltzer and lime.

I have to give an update on the new dog, Finn. He's very sweet but naughty. We haven't had a dog this young for a while and I forget how naughty they can be. He chewed up a slipper (my new one) and ripped up old sofa cushions on the screened- in porch. So, the crate has come out and he has to be in there sometimes. But, he's very sweet and I know he'll mature into a great part of the family. He and Zeus are great companions already so I'm glad for that.

Take care, everyone. We can do this!!

That's a great plan Weasel, we take kindly to good fiddlin' in some of the more proper restaurants down here (the kind that serve grits).....especially in New Orleans. Great place for a foodie from down east Maine.

Weekend!!!!
I am in!
And not only is it Halloween this weekend, but it is also my favorite time of year.....when we return the clocks to Standard Time!!!!

I really do not like Daylight Savings Time.

I have much work to do this weekend, plus a football game. But I am hoping that Sunday I will be able to relax.

I hope everyone is having a fine Thursday!
