Appreciating everything. I took my two young sons for a walk this morning and it was so beautiful and peaceful. "Magical" my 4 year old called it. It was almost a form of meditation for me. And I loved the morning watching my boys discovering nature

running to the gym, pushing my daughters in the stroller.... working out.... running back home again. Being able to do that feeling energetic and strong.

Not vomiting before, during or after.

Sometimes it's the simplest thing. Running to the store to pick up milk at 9pm, because I CAN. I didn't realize so many people were still out of their house doing things at that time of night because I was shut away drinking every night.

Not having to worry about my physical or mental health as a result of heavy drinking the night before.

Patience.

I'm a naturally patient person, and one feature I used to like about myself was an ability to recognize long term potential in things and be strategical vs small superficial rewards. Getting used to the unhealthy habit of instant gratification from drinking over years really messed this up. Still a work in progress to regain it.

One good thing - if it's a run on sentence it's one thing, right?
I remember everything I said and did last night and I don't feel guilt or shame and I'm not cursing at myself this morning!

Waking up not feeling nauseated. Being able to spend the day helping my Grandmother instead of lying in bed feeling sorry for myself.

One Good Sober Thing? Just one? Oh dear which one .... discovering that the apparent drama and stress was, 90% of the time, in my messed up head.
