Just can't stop drinking. I pretty much have to at this point to keep from having major withdrawl symptoms. Been through rehab, counselors, jail, dr's. I really need to detox but can't take off work. It's getting really hard to hide it from my co-workers. I'm sure I'm not fooling anyone. Feel really alone.
It is hard to stop drinking, but it is worth it. Do you think you need professional help from a counselor or from a treatment program? This is not the type of thing one can do on their own. I had to adopt the decision of "I will not drink....no matter what." It was a lot of tears, many long nights, but it was and is worth it!
Hey Kayla - I know how desperate things can get when you're full of despair.
Have you tried any of these recovery groups?

I recommend you visit the Secular Connections forum if you think you may benefit from a non 12 step approach.

Don't give up. I was at a very similar place 14 days ago, out of sick leave at work, wanting to detox but was scared really bad.
Seeing a doctor, is this an option for you? He could prescribe something to detox safely. Do you live with someone to monitor you?
Believe me please, in just 14 days I really feel 10000 better than my last binge. You can do this

Hang in there Kayla. I know how it feels to have extreme anxiety. I'm going through that right now. You are not alone! I don't know if I can say any magic words to fix your anxiety, but hopefully it takes way some of the hopelessness and loneliness to know that others are going through the same thing. And know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It gets better over time!
I did today Kayla,in fact I had a beard like a yeti from passing out early and waking up to late.Just a bit of anxiety which our evil friend alcohol gives us.Just remember that tomorrow will be easier.

Not really kayla, to be honest I tapered for a couple of weeks before I made the jump. This is not for everyone, and really does not replace a doctor's visit. But it helped me with anxiety, but you have to be serious about it, and you do get a bit of withdrawal.
I hope you will see a Dr - at least listen to what they suggest you do?

Then I say grab those days and make them your beginning to sobriety.
Consult doctor (nothing to shamed about, your not the first or the last) the.
Then you can safely detox.
See those days as your chance, your time to shine and kick this to the curb.
You deserve so much better in life!!
Be good to yourself, there is a way out, follow the light ;-)
