i'd LOVE to get 10 hours of sleep! (issues unrelated to addiction....I sleep in 2 to 3 hours segments off and on all night). but yes, normal, your body is doing amazing healing work while you sleep. enjoy it. don't'fight it! stay sober and things will continue to get better! good for you.

I'm sitting on day 10 today and I've noticed the same thing. The first few days I couldn't sleep, now I can barely get enough. I woke up once to use the bathroom, but I slept for 8 solid hours yesterday. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining one bit. I was used to passing out drunk and waking up whenever the buzz was gone, anywhere from 4am-2pm. This morning I got a cup of coffee and started doing the things I needed to get done for the day.

Wow I am glad to know it is normal, I am on day 8 and am sleeping like 8-10 hours a night. Feels wonderful but thought it was just strange in the same thought.

Day 7 for me and last night went to bed at 9...slept until 7. Best night's sleep I have had in a while. While drinking, I always went to bed with a bottle of water on the nightstand since I knew I would wake up throughout the night dehydrated. No water there anymore I made it through detox and am loving being able to get a good night's sleep. Good for you!

I have not had a drop in 29 days and I still feel tired at night and sleep 2-3 hours more than I did before. Think this is normal.

Congratulations on day 8.

As others have said 10 hours is great - let your body do what it needs to recover - if you feel rested when you wake then enjoy it!

It s the natural way for the body to heal itself.
Enjoy! and congratulations on 8 days

Recovery includes your physical well being too!

Alcoholic drinking does a lot of damage to your body.

Often we don't notice because the changes are subtle over time and we are to plastered to recognize them. It sounds like your body is starting to heal itself.

I think it is the body healing.
