Addicted to SR???
Yeah I'm pretty much a recovery maniac going to AA meetings everyday, reading SR, everyday, and also recovery books. It's how this alcoholic is, I go overboard with everything. Finding balance in my life has not been achieved. But being hooked on recovery is way better than drugs & alcohol, plus it's only been 2 months, and I know eventually I'll mellow out.

For me it is a good place to check in every day. It has been very supportive and a good way to start my next day of my new life. Thankfully for SR it might be an addiction but it is a good one like exercise or reading a new book every week. Those are addictions I can live with.
Have you seen my avatar?????? And I thought I was the ugly girl in high school.......
If it were not for this forum I would still be drinking.
I accidentally found this forum after doing a google search for liver pain alcohol.
After 6 weeks of lurking on here I stopped, after 34 years of drinking.
I would not have made it through the first few days were it not for this forum.
Today is day 38 and this forum is still my most powerful tool for not drinking.
I'll be the one dressed like a bird.

I don't even have an avatar. What should I wear? Please don't tell me I should wear nothing. No one wants to see that!

I've been in and out of AA a few times before and, while I am probably going to go back very soon, I am finding this place really helpful.
I log on a couple of times a day and I find it really helpful to see that there are other people in the same position and I like reading people's experience and advice. I've found that far better than the AA meetings I've been to in the early days. Maybe AA isn't for me, maybe the meeting was wrong - who knows!
Either way, I'm not addicted to here because I spend the vast majority of my time doing other things but I find this place helpful.
Thanks y'all!
