Cirrhosis ! God no ..not ME :(
Yep, when you get lost and take a turn down the wrong path, the key thing is to not get any more lost! Turn back while you can still see the road you need to travel. I hope you can use this stumble as motivation and a "teachable moment".
It's still the 2 year anniversary of a massive change Wendy.
Leaf back to your first posts here...you may have stumbled but you're light years away from where you used to be. Take some comfort in that

HI Snoozy, add me to the list of people here who have said not to be too hard on yourself. It's good your disappointed, I believe it shows you care. But in the end its pointless. Does very little for your sobriety. Besides, sounds like you got ride back on the sober train and are humming right along. Congrats.
Hi , I'm not trying to regurgitate this post , I just need to read through it and remember how I felt in the beginning when I first arrived here at SR
I'm off to rehab soon so I need all the tools I can recourse, thanks for your patience friends xx

Actually Snoozy, this post is what sent me to my doc's for my long overdue annual checkup !
I was scared to go...and have my labs comeback in a really bad condition!
But...your post made me wake up and realize...if something bad is wrong, I guess I better find out soon as possible !
Well...my labs came back and everything was...fine. I was spared again.
So...the first thought that popped into my mind ? "Yippee ! I can keep drinking for awhile longer" ! How crazy is that !
I decided then and there...it had to end. I'am on Day 4 now.
Your post rocked my world, and I Thank You for it !!!

For you, Snooz - anything.
Snoozy, I'm so sorry to hear you are dealing with this!
When my liver enzymes were elevated, my doc did a liver biopsy and I was told I had cirrhosis (serious!) and had at most 5 years to live. That was in 2008. My abdominal ultrasound did not look good and the blood flow in one of the veins in my liver kept on reversing direction - a very bad sign. I just had my most recent ultrasound and my liver looks normal.
So, I also recommend avoiding Dr Google! All of those things are averages. However, I would take this as a major wake-up call that your body is showing the results of alcohol abuse. Please listen to your doctor and resolve to do whatever it takes to be sober.
Be well!

This is a great thread. Lots of things to process in here.
How are your most recent tests?
I have been sober and drunk and sober and drunk and now Im back to being sober. About 9 weeks was my longest sober stint. Hoping that this is finally the last time I go sober- I hope this time I stay sober.
