That damn shame that we attach to this disease.
I would have felt the EXACT same way DB. Got me thinking - would I feel the same shame and responsibility if I was, say, a diabetic ? Heart patient ? Cancer survivor ?
How curious is it that we attribute positive adjectives such as "survivor" to just about every physical hump other than addiction...
