Day 8, interesting new developments
Hello,
Today is day 8 for me and to be honest, it's quite exciting. Not an emotion I expected beforehand, but how it all develops is very promising.
The first couple of days I felt terrible. Had to go to the ER etc. No sleep, feeling terrible, hardly any appetite.
Today I was hungry. For real. I've eaten so much and since I only like healthy nutrition, I'm filled up with all sorts of good stuff.
It seems like my body is now asking for nutrients to further the recovery.
I also had a moment of craving for just a split second but it was so mild that it really didn't bother me at all.
And finally, I feel like I'm going to sleep even better from now on. Tonight is my last night of taking the valium that I got from the ER and I'm happy about that. It prevents intense withdrawal and is supposed to help make you sleep, but I don't really like the stuff. So I'm glad that I don't need it anymore from tomorrow on.
Anyway, just an update. I'm still well aware of the "pink cloud" phenomenon and remain cautious. I'm realistic and know that there still might be difficult things ahead. But I know I can get past those as well.

Hey, there, James. Congrats on 8 days. That's fantastic! I like how you are wholeheartedly embracing the good emotions that you're experiencing today, while at the same time being realistic that it may not always be that way. Great perspective!

I remember reading somewhere that sugar releases endorphins and creates a slight high. Maybe it was a substitute for you back then. I suppose it can't hurt as long as it's temporary.
If you're not eating them now and you never cared for them don't start now! lol Take it from me. What I did find to replace them is cold, seedless grapes.
