Sober Weekend June 14-16!
I thought I'd start one of these for this upcoming weekend. Who's in? It's still technically Thursday for a couple more hours here but I'm certainly ready for this weekend.
125 days for me without booze. There's something about Friday that puts me in an awesome mood. Maybe it's the fact that my office allows jeans and t-shirts on Fridays. Simple mind, simple pleasures, right? I can't wait for the clock to strike 4:30pm tomorrow because I WILL feel like a little kid waiting for the school bell to ring.

Simple pleasures!
My favorite thing to do ever is to walk the beach with my dog and find treasures.
Looks like the weather will be right on Saturday and the tide will be low enough for some good beachcombing at my favorite beach about two hours away.
Plus, nothing beats a ferry ride.
Then, on Sunday, I will tell my dad I love him.

Thanks for starting the ball rolling mwstylee ,
I felt a bit of a pirate last week for jumping aboard pedros' friday thread as i wasn't sure if it was or wasn't ! .. "arrgh shiver me timbers" we all muddled through though , no harm done
No plans this weekend just the usual washing and cleaning , maybe look at the music i recorded last week and transfer it to Logic to chop up and play with .
Have a sober friday y'all , M
p.s. 125 days

Way to get the weekend rolling. I am definitely in!
125 days - man that's awesome!
I think we need to make the weekend thread title in ALL CAPS with lots of exclamation points, though, or Fandy has trouble finding it. She might need a seeing eye cat.
I am taking the day off. I normally have this Friday off, but I was considering working it because I missed most of the week staying home to care for my wife. (For those of you who don't read EVERY post at SR, she broke both of her feet last weekend and is almost completely immobile.) Anyway, I thought about working today to recover a bit of my vacation time, but since the weather forecast calls for "perfect", work is just gonna have to wait. I have a deck project that remains unfinished due to my relapse and my wife's injury, and I am gonna bust it out today.
But first - oh H377 yes - BACON.

Medical board exams for my students this am...driving to north campus....then back to my office, for a shorter afternoon.
Appt. With PT later, corrective movement therapy...apparently i am lobsided...back later, hope you all have a great sober day too.
No rain here, that is a blessing.

Right here with you all! Graduation ceremonies for my students today. I made alternative plans rather then join my colleagues down at a waterside restaurant do drink the afternoon away. Vermont somewhat drying out so hoping to get in my "rainforest". I turn in to a taxi driver for my son over the weekend but I'm driving the sober taxi now so that is fine with me!
Today is day 81 for me. I would love to join you all for a sober weekend. We can do this.

Woo hoo!
Love how the weekend threads have taken hold! Thanks for starting this one!
Heading to jersey to see my "in law". Just love the drive on the belt parkway! (Sarcasm)
Grilling I think.

So much for perfect weather, we are having a light rain - which would actually be nice to be outside in, except I need to use power tools.
Time to go kill some vines. I LOVE killing the vines that are trying to take over the back of my lot. Gotta stay on top of them or they would come right up to the house.

Sober weekend for me too.
The wife is leaving this evening to visit a friend until tomorrow afternoon. Usually my favorite time to get plastered is when she is away. Instead I'm going to see some friends with my son tonight, go home, chug seltzer water, put my boy down, catch up on Mad Men and close my eyes sober as a bird on a branch.
Wake up Saturday, take my boy to get knee pads and elbow pads for his scootering, go to the park, take him to a movie, have my sitter watch him when I go to the gym (NOT HUNGOVER), maybe get some sun if it's nice, cook soft shell crabs and make a salad when my wife gets home, fall asleep sober.
Wake up Sunday with a clear head, go for a run, maybe the beach if it's nice, if it's crummy a museum. Laundry and food for the week.
Here's to wanting to live in the hours of each day, instead of living to feed the demon the poison he demands...

Got the deck project FINISHED. Wootah!
(OK, so not totally finished, there's still some flower boxes to be built and a little trim work, but it's to the point where I have decided to leave it and move on to other projects.)
Both kids (20 and 19) are home tonight and I think we are going to have a pizza night and watch a movie.
Time to wash off the sweat and sawdust.
