90 Days! Yay!
90 Days! Yay!
I'm so excited! Today marks my 90th day of sobriety! As I hit each milestone, I can actually feel and see the physical improvements. Being sober is so much better than I ever imagined. Somehow I thought it would be boring and missing out on so many things, and I couldn't have been more wrong. Being drunk is just boring. Sure, now I have to deal with emotional issues head on, ...but I actually enjoy *feeling* things again instead of shoving it all under the rug and pretending it will go away with a buzz. (Like hands over ears while singing "lalalalala".) Instead I'm enjoying the natural buzz of experiencing every moment as well as the confidence that being sober brings to this precious life.
Thank you SR family. By just being here and opening up your hearts to me and so many others that come searching for a light in the darkness. You provide a selfless support system where we can all draw courage to live the best life that we all so dearly deserve.
Thank you! Big hug!

Ok well done. Just be careful with counting down days , I'm not scaring you , it can lead to failure. The point I'm making is if you constantly countdown the days you are in a way just thinking about alcohol , everyday. You don't want to go from being a drinker to a thinker lol I only ever countdown days if I'm excited about something but there is only one thing to be excited about here , you've realised alcohol is bad for you. You also need to remember this , it's very important , you were free from the day you decided enough was enough and you had your last drink. Would a prisoner count how many days he's been
Out if he truly hated prison ?

Woohoo! Well done! That's a brilliant achievement. How about a reward? I have a box of ideas that I pick one of at the end of a milestone. Things such as buying a luxury bit of make-up or giving myself a whole afternoon in my favourite bookshop. Its a nice way to say 'thanks' to youself and showing your sober self some love.
Congrats :-)

Great job!! 90 days is a big milestone!! BTW, I had an addiction counselor tell me its important to count the days-for me, it helps my motivation. I think the only problem with milestones is that sometimes people then want to reward themselves for "making it" to a certain number, but in your case it seems like you're on the right track!
