Just Curious...How Long Have You Been Sober?

So for those who are struggling to see themselves sober "forever" thought it would be good to see how long some of our long time sober friends have been sober for.

So if you've been sober for more than a year please contribute and tell us how long have you been sober.

Sober date for me is 22 August 2011, so 16 months on Sunday. If sobriety for good isn't yet apparent as permanent freedom from your addiction and freedom to have a good life, then consider sobriety for just a moment. Make it the present moment. 'I will never now drink'.

I had two great years .. Summer 2010 to summer 2012. Relapsed badly and quit again this fall ... Sober right now 2 months and 15 days, and going strong.

At Christmas I will have been sober 7 months. And that is the longest since my pregnancies 16 and 19 years ago.

My sobriety date is April 15, 1998. So I will have 15 years in 2013, if I don't pick up a drink. And for those having a tough time, I never thought I'd make it past 30 days. I wanted to drink so much in early recovery. But I took it a minute/hour/day at a time. Slowly life got better. Now, the thought of a drink sends shivers down my spine.

Since March 2012. Things are definitely getting better. Each day it seems like I discover something. To be honest my attitude seems to not suck so much anymore either. Lol.

7.5 years. It has been a long road for me. I have been in and out of recovery since 1988.

8 months and some weeks. Still struggling with 'forever' but less so than when I started. Take it a day at a time. Sobriety is progressive; the benefits accumulate as you go.

13 months. I have never felt better. I wasted so much time...being wasted.
