my last drink was 4/21/05. i was still drunk the 22nd, so my 1st day without a drink was 4/23/05. i have been wihtout a drink or drug since then, but not sober( been on a few dry drunks. sober- of sound mind). but i have been sober today and thats all that matters.

I started in hospital detox September 21 2010, and quit smoking three packs a day and drinking more than 30 units of alcohol a day, starting in my first cup of coffee that day. Never looked back. I have been "recovered" about 18 months.

Coming up for 3 years on the 1st of February.
Not really a struggle any more. Seems MAD to say that. Never thought I'd get there having struggled for years, on and off, on and off.

I was trying to moderate my usage for about 10 years as i couldn't imagine never having a drink.
3rd sept 2011 was the day when i realized i didn't want another drink ever in this lifetime if i had anything to do with it and so far, so good

135 days this time. I actually got sober in 1993 and stayed that way for about 10 years.....I had to do a little more "research", I guess. Dang near lost everything.

2 years, 5.5 months.
Very comfortable with sobriety now, but always on guard for those insane whispers that try to get me to drink again. As time goes by they get further apart
