Maintaining sobriety everyday teaches me that other people go about their life, dealing with situations as tbey come up, without drama. They accept that life can be difficult and so don't think of needing a substance to remove pain and frustration. They just deal with it and move on already.

Maintaining sobriety teaches me that the complicated things aren't as hard to work out,
The substances were making me crazy.
the simple things are what really matter.
And that really seeing my children and being there sober is better than any high.

that I have to face things in my life,
things I used to drink to forget. ...

I will be glad later that I did.

Maintaining sobriety every day teaches me that.. I really CAN live a happy, sober life. Always thought that I was going to be one of those who was never able to stop drinking. How wrong I was and how fantastic I feel, even after a mere 24 days. If I can do it - anyone can!!

Maintaining sobriety every day teaches me that I know many other ways to face life's challenges and I am completely capable of using them. Something I can only recently say with confidence.
