now you will feel better emotionally. maybe not today or even tomorrow, but get a few more days of sobriety under your feet and your perspective WILL be less gloom.
I don't know what program you use, but support from them will help you too.
try to make this a good day and a fresh start.

I'm glad you made the call.
Chardonnay, what can you learn from this experience? The 'friend' who brought you the flask - is he/she really a friend? Early recovery is full of hard choices to make, so use this as a learning experience.
Be kind to yourself!

Unfortunately you got your butt kicked by alcohol again. I had the crap knocked out of me more times than I can count but I kept coming back for more. When my life was finally on the line I decided that maybe I should try something differant.
If you are serious go to 90 meetings in 90 days, come early leave late, get to know others in recovery, get a sponsor, do what you are told by people with long term sobriety. You have a fatal disease so do what is necessary to live because the alternative as you have discovered is not fun but trust me it can alway get worse if you let it.

That is fantastic. You are putting yourself in charge of your recovery.
When they poured me under the door of AA I honestly did not believe I was fixable. I had tried so many things for so long I had given up. I was totally defeated, all the fight was out of me.
I went to a meeting and saw health happy people who said they did not drink (Did not believe that at first) but I had to admit after the meeting I felt better. It did not take long before I realized these people were just like me except they we doing great and I was not so I wanted what they had.
Fast forward 3 years. I got what they had, I still go to meetings 5/week, work the steps, have a sponsee, have a sponsor, have more great friends than I can count and most importantly I am sober.
All I can say is that if it was not for God and AA there is a very good chance I would be dead

Hi Chard,
You are doing all the right things, keep going things will get better believe me. You need to get the quality sober time under your belt. AA is my support and my program, into my second year and realize I need the program more than ever, lots of suppressed feelings down their that need to be processed.
All the very best

Chardonnay- Your family loves you for better or worse. Don't forget that. Great step to AA. Please come to this site if you are thinking of relapsing. You'd be surprised what all these gracious people can do for you. Great luck on your current journey.

Well, I went to 3 meetings today. I am feeling less doom and gloom. I know there is a way to work the program. I will be calling for a sponsor tomorrow. She scooted out of the meeting a little early, but I did get her number. Anyways, day 1 is over. And I made it thru the meetings!

I called that hope.....And I had none when I got there. Good job Chard!
Good Morning to you Chard,
I hope you got some rest last night. Be kind to yourself today. Keep things very simple....don't drink, eat well, take a walk, a nap....try to relax and let go of the anguish / guilt you feel. Thinking of you today.
