Congrats Achiles,
I suppose it makes sense to get some time booze free. Congrat on your sobriety.

Awesome Achiles!

I don't see how antabuse is "cheating"..we all need a variety of tools to help us get and stay sober.

Rehab keeps people from drinking by locking them up so they can't drink. Antabuse works like that for you. And like rehab, if you use that time to forward your recovery, you'll come off of it and be ready to move forward.

I needed my boyfriend to throw away my stash of pills, to hide his own legit painkillers and to tell my dr to never Rx me narcs again. Was that "cheating" or was it common sense!

So glad you came to SR to share recovery. Lots of us out here need to hear YOUR story.

You never have to hide anything here, not victories, or stumbles, or questions or experiences. This is a great place to let it all hang out.

Thanks again everyone!
Threshold--I appreciate the encouragement...maybe its not cheating but it is a big crutch and I need to do some major healing before i take it away. But I am all foggy and tired and can't find any equilibrium...very discouraging. But I am holding on.

Keep holding on! You are far from alone in that foggy feeling, Achilles. It will pass, and you are doing your body a favor every day you pass up the vodka. In time, it will find a way to show its appreciation.

Well done!
Do tell your wife though.
She could be your biggest support!

Well done on your achievement Achiles! That's no mean feat

It may be worth checking out AVRT... that has been described as intellectual antabuse x
