Work Time
It all started when my wife and I bought our new house. I thought it always felt better to do house work drinking a few beers. That lead to sitting outside on the deck after work having a few, then doing housework having a few to having a few from noonish till bedtime. It didn't change there though, my mood started changing, my personal habits changed etc. My wife and I argued day after day and my health and blood pressured slipped until I almost passed out in a public place. That was 29 days ago when I thought this is going to kill me, my wife is going to leave me etc. Today, we are working on our relationship, I am seeing a doctor and getting the help I need to recover.
welcome to SR deiru! i read your blogs. regarding cravings and urges, check out Dee's thread regarding Urge Surfing here http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...e-surfing.html . there's some interesting advice there. i also use distractions to help me break out of my cyclical thinking. short walks, reading a book, coloring....just doing anything that i enjoy so i don't sit and stew too much over wanting to drink.i still feel the urge but i don't let it drive me crazy. i hope you enjoy SR and find the fellowship and support you're looking for!

That is great news - good for you! Alcohol ruined my last relationship and my ex bf was acting the same way, mood changes, crazy arguments and his drinking only continued to increase. You can save your marriage and feel better! I'm not drinking myself right now and I'm happier.
That's great news, Deiru. Some people never realize how it changes them until it's almost too late. I never thought I would turn into the person I was at the end of my drinking career. I'm thankful you've seen the light and are looking forward to a healthier & happier life. You don't need that stuff.
