Hi Picean,
I am coming up to one year sober. I was able to do this with the support of AA and this website.
I could not stay sober without a program of support to guide me.
This is the most important step you will take in your life, your life is determined by your sobriety.
I wish you all the best but reach out get a program.

Must admit I had 3 beers last night.was tempted to buy more but didn't.feel a bit low and guilty to be honest as I type this.so so much crap going on in me life at the moment, having to move out me flat and look for some were to live and also finding another job. No excuse I no.but I've never done 3 days before for years and years so I quests its back to day one today.
The important thing is to keep trying Piscean...drinking on a problem never solves it - it just makes the problem worse, in my experience.
I dunno exactly what you did to not drink those 3 days but maybe it's worth thinking about what else you can add to that now?

hi Piscean, my husband is going through the same as you right now - he has been an everyday drinker of pints (at least 4, normally 6-10)for 30 odd years, but has today gone to see his GP - the first time i think he has realised that its genuinely a problem, not just me nagging!!!
I'll be thinking of you matey - focus on today, not yesterday, not tomorrow.
By the way, well done you!!! xxx

Hey Picean--I haven't been on here for a few days--Hope you're doing well. How did i find a program? I was at the end of my rope...3 DUI's...I needed help that I could not provide for myself. So, I put my faith in AA...it was a rough road my first year. I went to rehab as I have tried to stop on my own but could not. As a result of my 3rd DUI I also had to do jail time. Luckily, I did rehab first so I had a new foundation to build on. If I didn't join AA, start working the steps, find a solid sponsor, I would have hit a bar the moment i got out of jail, because that was a faith challenging place to be in. "God took me to it & he got me through it'. Today I am 14 month's sober. Trying to work my way back to a better life, one day at a time. Be open minded & willing to try (any/this) type of program. You will find support and ways to learn a new way to live.
