Cherry Garcia... I always put Grateful Dead on the stereo when I'm eating it, or I play it my head

Tea... Loose leaf... Special teas like silver needle white or oolong... brewed just right.

Really super sharp cheddar on olive oil and rosemary triscuits

I agree -- I need to be careful around sugar.

On the other hand---hazelnut gelato! Chai with sugar.

On a more abstemious note: lemon ginger tea in the evenings.

It's already been said, but I'm one of those who never ate sweets & now crave them all the time. It was much worse the first few mos. after I quit - I remember keeping a supply of lollipops (they helped with my fidgeting too). The only remaining sugar addiction is the ice cream & I need to stop.

Anything gummy (bears, cola, cherries) especially those that have the marshmallowy coating on half of them like the alligators.

THANK YOU!!!

Sugar is NOT a good option.......food addiction/disorders kill too......just like alcohol.

EXERCISE!!

not eating to "comfort". It's a band-aid, a temp cover up.

Solves NOTHING long term.

move, our bodies LOVE to move!

until you have tried it, you will never know just how great you will feel from exercising and moving! (even a brisk walk)

It helps me to be centered and balanced:

Physically relaxed

Emotionally calm

Mentally focused

Spiritually aware

Have a great day!

After 8 months, I'm going through this "ice cream" stage. Got to have one or two almost every night. But only one specific kind. The one I buy at the gas station where I use to buy my booze. It's chocolate covered cone with nuts on top and little chocolate bit at bottom.

ice cream
ice cream
ice cream

Also crave peanut butter and honey sandwiches now.

But I have been an avid worker-outer all my adult life so haven't gained any weight from it (yet?) My focus in early recovery is not drinking.

All I bought was juice

I have my quit day scheduled for Thursday. Drinking very little these last 2 days to make it a little easier. Anyway, expecting sugar cravings but all I stocked up on is fruit juice. Am I kidding myself?

I had to give up coffee and cola. They gave me far too much anxiety....

Now I am drinking geen tea, and feel much more relaxed!

Some of this might be obvious but this is how I make tea.

- Make sure you fully boil the kettle. Boiling water is vital.
- Leave it a while, about 30 seconds and then stir, if neccessary press the bag against the side of the mug for stronger tea.
- If you take milk, put it in last.

I usually leave special tea bags (green tea, etc) in the mug to brew as I drink them.
