Well done Severian. I know that wasn't easy for you.

Keep coming back. Remember to look for the similarities and not the differences. Keep posting too.

Congrats on taking some action S, and keep at the meetings no matter how you feel.

I seem to find a dozen excellent reasons not to go at exactly 7pm every day (they're all idiots, I'm not an alcoholic, 'come on - lighten up', I've done so well this week, missing one won't hurt etc etc). But when I get there, I usually seem to hear exactly what I need to, and if not, simply being stronger than my inner alcoholic voice is really empowering.

I heard a guy talking the other day and he imagines himself to be in a boxing match with his alcoholism at these times. He taunts his cravings: 'Is that all you've got - Ha!' Being a boxing fan, I liked this a lot.

Anyway, am so glad you've taken the plunge and hope you get what you need.
