30 days

30 days for me today...just wanted to say thank you to all of you for being here. Reading all of your posts made me look seriously at my own drinking, and your support has been awesome.

A couple years ago, I bought a book on how to moderate my drinking. The first thing they said to do was to abstain totally for 30 days. I thought 'if I could not drink for 30 days I wouldn't need this book on how to cut down!' A month was out of the question, which explains why I'm so surprised I'm able to start this thread today. I know it's not an eternity, but it's a pretty big deal for me.

Thanks again to all of you! (hmmmm...can't access the smilies..oh well, I'll do this then...((((SR))))!!

CONGRATULATIONS! I am new back here and was here years ago and I got 30 days a few times in my whole adult life with the help of NA and SR (excpert for the 8..5 months I was pregnant) and I KNOW HOW HARD IT IS and that it why I want you to know how very proud of you I am! Great Job...Keep it up! <3 C

What a joy it is to live without the use of drugs *alcohol is a drug!* and I hope you celebrate with a nice day treating yourself to something special (movie, dinner, a clothing item, a good book, something totally sugary, etc.). You deserve it! Congrats on 30 days clean and sober!

your 30 days clean is not a mirage...mirage, it's real. i know, corny as can be. 30 days is HUGE. awesome job. just keep clicking them off one day at a time. you know you feel better.
