Addiction addiction addiction
It all started with painkillers.. that led to sleeping pills.. that led to alcochol mixed with sleeping pills.. I got clean for a while but not really over the whole thing.. now it has been two weeks and I have been drinking every night.. It is two- three vodca+pineapple. It is enought for now.. but I know the signs.. It is beginning all over again..
I have to get out of this as soon as possible. For good this time. I am setting my sober date for tomorrow. Can I rely on your help?:praying

How wise your post is. Determination is the key. But I need to know how others did it. I need to feel their determination. I need to hear other stories. I need to relate to them. I need to talk and be supported whenever I am weak. I quit smoking that way.. I want to be free of addiction. for good.
Hi EmmaHrm and Charlieinnj
There's a million stories here - pull up a chair and start reading
2 years ago I was a 24/7 drunk - the people here at SR gave me encouragement and support...and not least a little hope
Welcome to you both

Of course you can rely on our support. But what do you plan to do for yourself? Recovery from addiction is a lot of work, and many of us have stumbled along the way. You need to get into a structured recovery such as AA. Call the aa number in the phonebook, it's manned 24/7. They'll give you directions to the nearest meeting. Go to several until you find groups you're comfortable with. Then get ready to do a lot of hard work, being helped by folks who've been there and done that. If after a while you decide that AA isn't for you, have a Plan B ready. There are a lot of other programs available. But don't sit here and wait for warm smiley faces to get you sober. We'll give you all the advice and support we can, the real work is up to you.
