Thanks to you all.

Now the real work starts. Still don't know about my house. Time will tell. Just happy to be cool, dry and sober.

More when I can get to a computer.

Thank you all again.

Hi yall. Here's an update:

I did NOT get water in my house! I am so grateful for that. about 90% of my neighborhood did get water in it. Our house is just a little higher. We have lots of trees down and some shingles off of the roof, but it is all very fixable.

I am STILL at my Mom's house. She had surgery last Tuesday.

I will NEVER stay for another storm. I got up and got my Mom and dad dressed and into their chairs. The lights were out and all I did was sit there and listen to the storm. All I could think was that if something happened that I would only be able to save one of them. It was the worst night of my life. I had continuous panic attacks all night. I learned a good lesson though. NEVER stay during a hurricane.

My Mom and dad's house had alot of trees down. They also lost their fence. But it could have been much worse.

So I am still at their house, taking care of them. Lots of opportunities for the Serenity prayer!

thanks to all of you for your support during this trying time.

Here are some pictures from the storm:

I drive this way often. I take a right at the DQ to go to my house. Anyone need a couch?? LOL

this is about 2 miles from my house. The yellow house is still standing.

OMG - Tanya!! I have seen the horrible things leading up to it on the news, but not a lot since. As I told you in the pm, I can't watch it when son is home because he freaks out. Kids are very literal as we all know.

I am so glad prayers were answered and YOU, YOUR HUSBAND, AND YOUR PARENTS are safe and well. I am sorry you had such a hard visit.

You know what Tanya? I'm not crossing you off the prayer list just yet my dear. Thanks for the update. :ghug3

Thanks for the update, and I'm so glad the damage wasn't too bad. I can't imagine sitting through a hurricane in the dark, worried sick, but you did AWESOME!!!

Let's hope there's not any more hurricanes lurking around for a long, long time.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

Very glad you and your loved ones are safe. :ghug3

Here in Ohio we had one hell of a wind storm but all I could think of is how bad it must be at the site if the hurricane!

I heard that a lot of Ohio lost power from Ike. That just shows how big the storm was.

I really need to go home. I am going nuts at my parents. I had a MAJOR using dream last night. I had not had one in a while. I'm going to try to skip out of here today. But I know I will be worried about the parents the whole time I am gone. And I will probably feel guilty too. Dang these living amends are tough!
