Morning all,

Wow at this rate I might get my very own thread with a (part 2) LOL

My task for today is to think of a "quote" not sure what you guys call them, you know the little sentances after your name on posts, feel free to offer suggestions

IO, I definatly don't think deep down I thought I might drink. For the first time ever I really don't want to drink, so I was just kinda suprised at the craving's/thoughts I had when drink was near me. Trust me these past few weeks have been a nightmare and I never want to go through them again which is enough to keep me sober at the moment, of course I realise that the better I feel the harder it will become to remeber how crap I have felt, but at the moment a drink is the last thing I want, even though occasionally I do think about having one just to make myself feel normal again. I just keep telling myself though that if I don't drink I will still feel normal again it will just take a tad longer

I am only half way through my first coffee of the morning so not really awake yet and can't remember who else asked/said something to me, but thanks

Glad you're still here Sax! SR is a wonderful place that's helped me stay sober and I've been some real idiots and of course some wonderful people.

I'm proud of you for staying strong. For me to finally quit drinking I had to get to that place where I actually didn't want to drink any more. I went through the whole......I won't get drunk tonight or I'll only drink beer or I'll only drink 3 tonight thing. It never worked for me. Once I finally made the decision to quit that's what worked for me.

hugs.

Hi Stone, how are you today?

Hi Parent

Paperdolls, I am completely with you on that, I'll only drink this or I'll only drink that, or only on Fridays, the list is endless isn't it and none of them work, so for me like you I quit

A bit fed up but glad to be sober Sax.

I read in your other post you said about reading up on alcoholism and recovery, that is a great idea BTW.
I hope you hang around here if you need some support or feedback or a waffle.

I think I have to raise my hand now.

look at my description below my name

but PDs right Sax...once you go through all the ridiculous control attempts, and finally get to 'that place'...no fevered rationalisation for taking that next drink works anymore...well so far for me at least, anyway and I'm damn near 5 months

not gonna lie and say it's always a walk in the park...but...it's getting there !

Good morning,

Thank you for all your kind words, it's nice to know that your all here thinking of me, I don't really have anyone in my life to support me so it's lovely to log on here in the morning and be able to tell you all how I am doing, which is good by the way

Day 13 today, it is absolutely pouring down with rain so not sure what I'll be doing, but what ever it is I'll be doing it sober.

Hope you all have a lovely day

Sax

Stone I hope your feeling a bit better today

hi Sax!

good for you, hon! rainy days - I'd LOVE one of those right about now. It'd put our the fires, and give me a day with an excuse to lay around reading and playing with the cats. (They only allow me so much time to read. then I have to 'break' and play with them for while)

Are your cat's young? I have two cats they are 3 and 4 but they arn't really playfull anymore, but I have to "break" and play with my toddler she hates it when I try and read a book

hi Sasony -

They're littermates and yeah - only four months or so.
*counts on fingers*
yeah.
4 months.
both female.
both solid white.
one manx.
one with tail.
really LONG a$$ tail.
it's been more than twenty years since I've had a cat with a tail.
she's making up for that.

Beloved (manx) and Poppy (sister)

they've been a Godsend for me.
and a nightmare to my furniture and household accessories.
LOL

Hi Saxony . 13 days is so great!!! Sorry about the weather but I love the part of your post where you say "not sure what I'll be doing, but what ever it is I'll be doing it sober." Keep that thought.
