((((((Stone))))))

Any one..I mean every body in AA will tell you, (including me) that that phone

may seem like it weighs a thousand pounds when you really need to make a call..

But what sweet relief when you talk to someone just like you who really understands

and cares.

WTG ...

Love,

I have actually spoke on the phone to one AA guy every day for the last week, he is a real upbeat older guy (about 70) he always cheers me up.
I have a sort of sponsor now too so I can phone him, if they aren't at home I have a few more numbers of people I don't know so well but I will phone them if I feel like picking up.
Taking a night off from meetings tonight but I have lifts to two meetings for the two days after that so that's cool.
I was going to try to do 90 in 90 but I am happy with 4 or 5 meetings a week I think, if I feel the need to go I will always go.
My sort-of sponsor is great, I got really lucky with him I think.
One of the old-timers blurted out I had 7 days last night and it was obvious I was being 'coerced' into sharing lol!
My mind went blank so I just said that I had felt really bad that day and was so glad I had the meeting to go to and thanks (my first share-at least I lost my virginity now).
That particular meeting will definitely become a regular meeting for me and I have found a step meeting I really like that will become regular too. Sorry for the waffle lol!

Anyhoo, still struggling with insomnia and mood swings but improving each day.

Thanks RZ and gypsy

Nope, I wont be drinking today. Going to a step meeting in a couple of hours, it was a nice meeting last time and I think it's a good idea to go to a step meeting once a week to learn more about the whole AA thing. I am still taking the whole process slowly though, listening a LOT and just settling in to it all.

Still got the insomnia, depression and anxiety malarky but doing OK. Very physically weak as well, I really poisoned myself last time. It was basically a month long bender with a couple of days off in the middle. Yuk.

I heard a guy once describe it like this. "Calling another guy and asking for help ? It's easier to ask another guy on A DATE"

Stone, that's so cool you started going to AA and are actively involved. It works, it really does.

Hi GP, if it kept me sober I would ask a guy out on a date! He better not think he's getting lucky on the first date tho!

Thanks Kasha! Have you started a thread introducing yourself yet?
Just a suggestion.

Not yet, but planning on it. I've got a lot on my plate coming up and an enormous amount of anxiety to go along with it. I will definitely need the support. Thanks for asking.

I'm so glad I found this forum! It gives me encouragement and strength every day.

Minnie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey hun, thanks a lot Really nice to hear from you! I hope you are doing well. I certainly intend to keep it up, believe me.

Just been to a step meeting, another sober day, I will prolly waffle on later but need a cuppa first, the meetings always help but they can leave me quite exhausted sometimes-not used to thinking bout things-duh

3.25am, damn insomnia. At least I am sleeping enough to keep 'the crazees' away.
Worrying a bit about my 15 day weakness coming up soon, my solution?-go to meetings every day around that time, use phone numbers if I have to-do not drink no matter what.
One day at a time and all that but a bit of forward planning makes sense.

All I seem to talk about these days is damn AA lol!

Stone! I keep forgetting it is a different time there. LOL.
sorry you cannot sleep. Is that usual? I've got a great sleep CD if you would ever like a copy. Sometimes I use it in the middle of the night since I don't sleep so hot myself. It's different sound waves...not what you would think.

Keep up the super work. We are here for you anytime to support you through the 15 day weakness....

Keep it up stone, you're doing fine. The insomnia passes eventually. Took me about 4months. Try mellatonin or an OTC sleep aid.

Do you have the bedtime "itchies" yet ? They used to drive me crazy !
