Hi Ice,

Welcome!

I am so sorry for your loss.

It's good that you have talked to your dr and he has put you on librium. I had to get my depression treated before I was able to stop drinking. Without the medication, I just didn't care enough to put the effort into sobriety that I needed.

Stopping drinking for 3 days is great. You have taken a great step and we are all here to offer support.

I was sick for about a solid week.....felt semi-human after that for about two weeks. After a month, I was feeling pretty good physically. I wasn't drinking 197 proof everclear, I was up to over a fifth of 100 proof a day thought. You are probably half way to feeling okay, don't give up!!! You don't ever have to feel sick like that again, and you should get a little better every day now.

Good luck, SRH

It's a blessing you are able to take care of
your kids after such a tragic loss.
Prayers Hugs to the 3 of you.

My withdrawal took about 4 days
and the good news...
I never have to do that again!!

t's good to see you here too!
Welcome!

The insomnia will go away too!! Best part of that is, you will really feel rested after a full nights sleep...instead of feeling like all you do is sleep and never get enough rest.

you will, try getting up and doing something rather than lay flat and think. Read or walk or whatever engages you.

you can post and read here maybe get some other literature. A good idea to read the stickies at the top of each forum.

Ditto.

My story of withdraw is in "What to expect" in the Alcoholism forum. It wasn't pretty.

Sure do!! Welcome to SR ice! Hang in there, your getting real close to feeling human again. Eat good, drink lots of water, take some walks. Maybe you can get a babysitter or friend to watch the kids in the evenings while you check out AA?

True, if they are drinkers, it's best to let that be. You will make new & sober friends. What about a babysitter? Grandparents?
