today every ting is going good since they got my meds going good now there making me sleep alot to help with the blood presurre it got low spent the night in the hospital till they goot it under control thanks for all your post it helps to read them their mouths just drop when they find out i have shooting everclear that many years but im doing it and no looking in the past only future thanks all on meds for two more days but i think the worst is over

Hey Ice!

Hang in there man. It sounds like you have the determination to get through this which is great. This will be the hardest part. I have only been sober 12 days, and I only drank Wine. But I drank a lot of it!!!!!! I started switching over to kettle one cocktails when my wine would run out.

I don't know your whole story, but I did it for my kids too. It's hard and I live right across from the liquor store too. I just drive by every day and flip the bird and tell it to go to he@&. That makes it easier.

Hang in there and keep smiling another day sober is a great day!!!!

will its going on 6 days and feeling pretty good still have a long ways to go and i know its a sickness now and i can vever go back no looking back looking for the future and beyound but wont forget were i came from

Hey ice, hang in there. Once you get through the physical then you gotta deal with the emotional and the mental. Do you have a plan for recovery? There are other methods besides AA that you can find links to on SR. If you're interested I'm sure someone can send you the links.

I'm proud of you. I remember the hell of withdrawals and what got me through was telling myself over and over again that if I could just get through it I didn't have to ever do it again if I didn't choose to. That was a little over 2 and a half years ago now. It can be done so hang on tight and educate yourself on this disease.

let me ask you guys a question i been sober for 6 days and my mind is telling that one drink wont hurt me or go back to like i was is this normal its hard to get this thought out of my head isit normal youll have a good day frist day back to work olease let me know thank you

Congrats on 6 days sober. Don't listen to that voice that is telling you that one drink won't hurt. That voice is lying to you trying to pull you backwards. It can't stand knowing that you are beating it so it is screaming at you. Don't give in.

You know one drink is never going to be enough. Ever.

Don't listen to that ice... one drink is the beginning of more and that's the problem right? Don't give in to that 1st one... it will hurt you.

NO NO NO! This disease is very cunning isnt it? I think this is where the term "my mind is playing tricks on me" came from! You are almost through the hard part and you dont want to have to go through this all over again do you? Thats what 1 drink will do. Cuz it WILL turn into 2, 3, 4, .....and boom!
I promise it will get easier. You just have to trust us and hang in there. You can do this thing, you are a lot stronger than ya think.
Way to go on 6 day!!

8:23 here. Your almost good to go. .......one of our friends on here has a signature "when all else fails go to bed!".......So true too!
Have you read in the "stories of recovery" section yet? It's some good reading. Lots of intense stories from people that are still here and going strong!
