Mine always suck for 72 hours, shakes, sweats, sleeplessness, nervous like I'm cracked out...can't sleep, then after 72 hours i have crazy dreams but I'm ok. but I'm bitter and irritable for about a week. after that it's all uphill.

Sounds like you did the right thing by going to the doctor. The good thing is that it's only fatal if untreated, you'll be fine with medical supervision. Please come back and let us know how you're doing when you get out of treatment
About AA/NA meetings, if you find a non-smoking meeting(your choice of course), you will find that there are other children there.....we need to get help any way we can, even with the children.
My Son knows more AA/NA people in Detroit than anyone I know. (his Father is in recovery also, over 12 years clean) I have even taken him to DACNA!!! He loves the dances and he has lots of friends whose parents go to the meetings. My Son will be 12 in September, I was in recovery when he was born....never once had a problem taking him with me!!!

hey ice - how's it going today?
I've been reading your posts, and want you to know I came off hard liquor too(not ever clear, though - woo just high-ocatne vodka for me)
and had the whole shakemup stuff, sick ... doc worried about siezures too; but it passed.
in just a couple of weeks.
thank you for doing this. your kids need you, man. gonna suck for a bit - but you never have to do this again.
remember that.
I do.
and I still never want to detox again.
it helps keep me sober.
thank you for your honesty
