This was my class. Thirteen years ago. Hadn't had a drink since September 10, 2010. The anniversary completely slipped my mind.

Sobriety is normal now. Not taken for granted, but, like breathing, it is automatic.

May you all receive the same gift

Well done DoggoneCarl!

FF, saw that you were reading The Upward Spiral, there’s a workbook that goes along with it. I read the Upward Spiral and found some good stuff in it even though I have anxiety and not depression.

First day back in practice was a total success!!! I was able to be of good service to my patients and co-workers, and I feel terrific.

It was lovely to be surrounded by all of my people, and I had ZERO desire to use! ZERO.

“We recoil from it as from a hot flame. We react sanely and normally, and we will find that this has happened automatically.”

Here’s to continuing down this road of recovery! This is awesome!

Club ride tonight. Did really well. 13.4 mph at 21 miles with over 1200 ft of elevation. My goal is to have 14 mph but at 5’2” and 115ish it’s hard. Still the guys gave me so many high fives afterwards. They know I work hard to keep up.
I was never this fast when I was drinking!

Husband did a three mile hike while I rode!!

Making dinner and heading to bed early. Sorry to not scroll thru and see how all of you are. I will check tomorrow

Morning all

So happy for you TC

Great riding Peke

Day 32. Just weighed myself and I have now lost over 1 stone - I must qualify I have a lot to lose was getting closer to 2001b so obese-just don't want to trigger anyone talking about weight if it's a problem.. now down to 169 so going in the right direction. I know it is easier the first few pounds as they really are excess.

feeling good. weird as last couple of days have been extremely stressful with work issues and personal stuff. couple of times I've been so angry (at my boss, at the TV) and some periods of sadness, almost in tears. But I'm grateful I didn't want ot drink at these times. I just thought, it;s life, it's a bad day, it will pass. hopefully learning better coping skills. It is amzaing the more clear headed I am the easier it seems. you just don't see it when in the cycle of drinking.

Thinking of our other classmates, Lixie, Citrus, Erratic and everyone else -hope you post x

Hope everyone has a good day x

Sorry to hear that, FF. Take care of yourself.

Thanks for all the birthday greetings! I had a lovely day with my wife and my daughter, and we talked a lot about how we want to live our lives. So, today is the first day of the rest of my life, and I am happy and ready to take it on.
