Lol Toots, we went out and stood in there rain, we were so delighted
But too much of a good thing can become problematic.
We just haven’t had any for months and really need it.
It’s cleared up again here so it may be a while before we get any more.
I’m sorry you got rained on at golf, it’s no fun being wet and cold.
I hope you get some fine weather soon

It wasn't too bad Willow, just uncomfortable and made for a tough game on a course we hadn't played before, it was very boggy! Im back on my own course today which has good draining in the most part so should be an easier game. ( not that it improves my play much!). I'm glad you got some of the glorious wet stuff, I trivialise, but I do know how you have suffered from drought in your part of the world, I've read articles that are heartbreaking, both about the effects of the drought and the effects of the fires.

I’m here!
Had a big AV monster attack yesterday but didn’t give in. Although I did park in the car park of the liquor store. Ugh. I had a really stressful day and had a moment of I don’t care about the consequences. But reminded myself how bad I would feel the next day if I drank. And that I’d be drinking today to cope with yesterday’s hangover. And the whole awful cycle would have begun again. So I’m still sober. It was 4 months on the weekend. 18 weeks today. 126 days. One day at a time.

I am well!
Been chasing puppies all week! Potty training not going well at all! Gonna be a paper towel shortage in the fish household soon! LOL
Didn't want to sleep in crate last night, whined all night until I gave up around 11:30 and took them to the couch. Then they just wanted to crawl on my face. We got about 3 hours sleep and we are at it again.

What was I thinking??!! LOL

I love em though. They are just too cute to be angry with for more than a minute.

Hope charon is having better luck than I

Hope everyone is well

Good work on not going through with it willow!
But maybe work on not giving that AV so much head space. You are just torturing yourself. You know what you want so don't even give it a chance to convince you otherwise.

Count it a win Willow, but think of a good reward you can give yourself at times like that rather than a drink.

FK, you're in for a fun time if you let the wee critters rule the roost! Remember you are top dog!

I've been very sick for several days due to bad choices and I am slowly recovering. Ruthie is, maybe, turning out to be more than I can handle. I'm not doing well on her training and getting her out often enough (every hour or so) round the clock has been very wearing. I'm wondering if I'm going to be able to keep her. It's a lot more work than I expected, and not as much fun. Her personality is pretty pushy and demanding instead of being eager to please. I might just not be training/treating her right. I am thinking about finding a trainer to work with me and her. Know anybody that wants a cute puppy? Just kidding. I feel that way a lot, but I'm not quite ready to give up yet.

A trainer sounds like a great idea.
Sorry she is being stubborn but yorkies just seem to be that way. My Dad's yorkie is around 10 - 12 yo and stubborn as a bull.
He will walk her around the neighborhood and as soon as he heads back home she stops. Nope, we ain't done yet! LOL

She was rescued from a bad environment and had no training though and he just gives in so don't take this as all yorkies are hopeless. Just the opposite.

If it's any consolation my 2 pups are not taking to potty training at all right now either.

Hi all - I'm back from the bush. It was really easy to not drink despite hubby having a few beers at the end of the day - I didn't even like the thought of having a drink - my cranberry and apple mineral water was just perfect. I did, however, really struggle with nicotine/smoking cravings a lot of the time. It was a good thing I had no smokes with me or I'm sure I would have smoked. I'll post a few (or maybe lots) of photos when I have sorted them a little. I think I took about 500! It was so beautiful - spring flowers, lovely landscapes, beautiful creeks and water holes and great wildlife.

Toots - you are such a lovely person. So very caring and supportive of those in need.

Charon - good to see you back here again. I hope you are feeling better and have added to the realisation that being sober is far less awful than being a drinker - most times, life is is even so much better sober. I tend to agree with you and FK - the support of a puppy trainer might be a good idea. I know it is challenging to train a puppy and it does require a firm attitude and patience to make sure that you take and keep the role as top dog - some external training will help no end with teaching you and Ruthie at the same time.

FK - hope your puppy toiletting gets better soon. Did you end up keeping two of the pups?

Willow - so good to hear you got some rain. We had a light drizzle one afternoon and evening while away, but it was mostly just perfect weather. When we got home last night though, we copped a great thunderstorm. I'm glad we weren't out camping in anything like that!

Hi to all the other Undies, Dee and Purps - hope you are all doing well.

I have so many photos to chose from and all are bringing back great memories. It's hard to just share a few!

To start, some images from the lookouts:

And some of the landscape:

It is spring, so lots of lovely native flowers around:

Many of the critters were a bit fast for me, but here are a few that I caught on camera (there is a frog in the third photo!):

All in all, a lovely spot to spend some sober time!

Wow Coz thank you so much for the gorgeous photos, is that aboriginal art in the 8th one? It looks so beautiful no wonder you didn't feel the need to drink, it is a totally uplifting and 'other world' experience anyway I should imagine! How was the foot? I turned my ankle on Monday and have been hobbling around since as it slowly heals. No jogging or golf in my immediate future! Thank you for the lovely compliment, but really I have a philosophy of 'do unto others as you would be done by' and would like to believe someone would help me in my hour of need!

Charon, I would add my name to the chorus, I think a trainer is definitely the way to go. I had help with previous pups, but Molly was such a joy I was able to train her on my own. ( and even she has 'selective hearing' at times! ) I hope you are feeling better and learn the art of making better choices next time you are challenged. Be strong my friend.

Almost at the end of another week, looks like our town might be going into a stricter lock down next week.

Yes coz we ended up with 2 pups. The lady who was supposed to get the female never showed. It is for the best as she has become attached to me.
They are thriving together and I figure if we are training one we can train 2. The plus is they keep each other occupied so we don't have to be the playmate 24/7.

I agree those pics are beautiful. So peaceful

Oh Toots - so sorry about your ankle. I hate it when I can't do all the things I'd like to do and I am thinking that you are going to miss your golf! My foot is still not quite right, but I couldn't let it stop me from climbing around gorges and walking what turned out to be about 40km (so my fitbit tells me). I did rest it up today though - it was hurting a bit. Hopefully it will be really better soon - I think it will be six weeks on Sunday, so I am expecting it to be better by then (despite me not caring for it properly).

FK and Charon - if you live closer, I would love your puppies - even for a few weeks!
FK - I can't believe you got a no-show for such cuteness.
Charon - I hope each day is getting better for you and you are finding some low-stress times to relax.

Willow - you have some lovely camping spots. One day we will have to exchange some ideas on the best spots to head! Hope your busy days at work are going OK - not long until the weekend now!

Take care everyone.... It would be great to hear from those who haven't posted in a while

What a difference a Mirko (my therapist) makes. Since I gave up being so worked up and stressed about trying (and failing) to make sure Ruthie had no "accidents" in the house, get her trained to all the commands she (eventually) needs to understand, etc. and relaxed to let her just be a puppy I am so much happier and so is she. She is so smart. She had to have known my stress level was up and it affected her. Once I quit trying to get it right and just let it be, she relaxed too. She is eating well again and I am just loving her antics and not minding one bit the middle of the night outings, when she lets me know that she needs to go out, instead of a regimented schedule of alarms on my phone. If she has an "accident" no worries. What did I get the Rug Doctor spot cleaner and whole rug cleaner for anyway? Also, a dog this small - how much damage does a piddle do? I am having so much fun with her that I can't believe it. She is going to be my all time buddy and confident - she won't ever spill my secrets LOL. Don't even ask her. She won't tell.

Mrs is definitely leaving (eventually) but on good terms. She even admitted that she wasn't the easiest person to live with. I felt the earth shift. I never could have expected her to admit that. It's being called a temperory seperation, but I think we both expect it to be permenant. My guess is that it will be much better for both of us.

Charon - what a difference a day makes when not drinking! You sound on top of the world again! Lovely photo of Ruthie too.

Hi to all. Time to start my day - my last Friday before I start the new job, so I am going to make the most of it (after more coffee).

Take care....

Must be exciting getting ready to start the new job Coz, will be thinking of you Monday morning!

Charon, sometimes we need the distance of time to get perspective. Training doesn't happen over night, though I still feel it is worth getting a few hints from a specialist trainer to be sure you are doing all the right things. I'm glad you and Mrs are coming to a civilised arrangement, it sounds like the best for you both. Ruthie is growing up!

Coz I've booked golf on Sunday, but don't think I will be able to play, it's wishful thinking! I am determined to take molly for a short walk today though.

FK, better a no-show than someone taking in a pup half heartedly. And you get the fun of two fur babies! Yay!

Have a Fabulous Friday everyone - or Saturday if you are south of the equator!
