Class of July 2020 Part Two
Day 30
Better today - repaired a laptop (intricate dismantle and reassembly after soldering teeny-weeny bits) - so £200 better off
Went for bike ride and did some shopping (no onions in a supermarket!? I bet a potato costs £50 next year)
Drank orange juice (vitamin C) (after not for a while) and it perked me up - I was dumb to stop taking what I knew helped me
I have bought a months supply of pregnenolone - an experiment to see if it speeds up recovery
Normality does not come easy - you have to claw your way back
Sort of like recovering from a stroke - you have to relearn joy and pride and satisfaction from little everyday things
I'm not sure what's real and what is an illusion (emotion wise) yet
Thank you for the kind words to prop me up
Anyway - well done if you are still hanging on :-)

Congrats on 40, CuteNGayYay! I'm fully confident that I'll hit that milestone. I'm at 16 days, 0 hours and 20 minutes sober as of this morning. Owen90, you're still with me, right? Stay strong Class of July, 2020!!
Yesterday was what I would call my first easy day. I think it was mostly because I was extremely busy the entire day, but I don't recall having a single craving, nor did I have any fog going on. I got a card in the mail from my sister-in-law congratulating me on my sobriety. That meant a lot to me. I'm still doing daily check-ins with my brother and he's doing his best to motivate me. I took my dog for five walks yesterday. My dog thinks sobriety is the greatest invention ever.

Of course I am still here my friend It's bloody hot today at work but unlike last week, I don't have any alcohol cravings. It's nice having entire weekends to do fun stuff instead of getting blasted, spending loads of money and feeling horrible, lol.
Congrats on the 40 days CuteNGayYay
Quick check in. Happy to see everyone holding on and that things are getting easier. Life is going well here again today, we recently received some great news about hubby's job (hired perm) and our mortgage (payment going down). Did some calculations and between not buying booze, his raise and the mortgage payment, we will be able to buy (and afford) a second vehicle that we so desperately need. Will have to save up for a down payment but without paying for my gut rot every couple of days, it shouldn't take but 2-3 months. We couldn't be in a position to move ahead financially if I wasn't sober. I am so thankful I seized upon that moment of clarity when I decided I didn't want to drink anymore. I am also very thankful for all of you here, you are an amazing source of support. I know I couldn't have done it without you. I have tried, and failed, many times. I was running out of chances. We are awesome. Have a great and sober day.
Day 31
Went for a long bike ride and did a big shop - mentally pretty good - physically a cartoon slob
(chatted with people while out - nice friendly stuff - when you drink you don't do that)
Sorry Dee74 - I should keep my experiments to myself
Well done on winning big Kaptn
(have you noticed CuteNGayYay has a girl on his shirt)

Checking in. I'm now on 21 days - 3 weeks - of being sober. Without tempting fate my sleep has got a lot better and my anxiety levels are much lower.
Good to see other posters in our Class Of July 2020 thread reaching some great milestones

Day 32. Had someone pick up a laptop this morning which I'd fixed, they were so grateful they dropped of a case of beer. Er... erm thanks. Am rather pleased that I wasn't even tempted and instead immediately went round to my neighbour's and donated it to their upcoming barbecue. So my weekend starts off by making a few people happy.
Have a great weekend everyone and great to see the Class of July still hitting more milestones.
