Thanks, Dee :)

Thanks Dee!
RyanBrian welcome and congrats on 18 days!

Just took a small nap and am feeling much rejuvenated. I'm so happy to be here and be sober.

venuscat 07-18-2020 02:36 PM

Nap here as well. It is helping my ankle...how is it that sleep is just so incredible....40 mins and the pain is back under control. :)

:grouphug:

Citrus 07-18-2020 02:39 PM

You are right about the nap! What did I miss about your ankle? Doesn't sound good.

PuckLuck 07-18-2020 02:39 PM

Not going to lie. I would love to smash a bottle of vodka right now. This really sucks.

It's the type of craving you can feel in the pit of your stomach :(

venuscat 07-18-2020 02:46 PM

Play the tape through dear Puck.....how would that go exactly?
Is throwing up at 4am involved? A pounding headache? Regret?
Maybe. And then shame and wondering why you gave in.

What else could you do to distract yourself right now?
Does your dog need a bath?
That is always fun....we used to wash our dogs in my dad's wheelbarrows. Really. No clue why....it was his idea.
Best part is always when the dog is covered in shampoo and shakes.

I am an idiot Citrus (almost called you Chick :)) and I cracked the bone badly in a dumb way while moving too fast.
I hit it full pelt on the edge of my wooden table while doing a stupid ballet move....no not really....just a fixed in place bench and climbing in and out is required and I am more careful now. Also very happy to see you today. :) s ❤️

venuscat 07-18-2020 02:57 PM

Puck ~ when the craving is bigger than you are, you need help.
Do you have milk? If you do, please drink a glass of lovely cold milk.
I bet the craving starts to slither away....not quite gone? Drink another one.....heck, chuck some strawberries in and make a smoothie.
Bet it is gone gone gone after that. s xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

have you tried any of these tips Puck?

Puck, listen to Suze! That milk trick really works very well. I've stopped at a gas station to buy a little thing of milk when I've had cravings. Works every time I am willing to make myself do it.
Please don't drink. It is so not worth it. It's your AV that is wanting it, not you. You want to have a clearheaded Sunday! You will be so happy that you worked your sober muscles in the morning.

Suze! That is so not good about your ankle! You shouldn't do thingo like that.... sounds exactly like something I would do though!
It is not a good month for ankles. A few weeks ago my oldest sons friend broke his at a basketball tournament over an hour away from home. I drove him home so he wouldn't have to wait until they where done playing to go to the er and get xrays.

venuscat 07-18-2020 04:45 PM

That was lovely of you. I hope his ankle is healing well.

Citrus 07-18-2020 04:48 PM

Thank you!
He had surgery on it two days later. He should be able to start walking in his boot sometime this coming week. He was so sweet and thankful I took him home right away. I hope someone would do the same for one of my kids. The coach seemed pretty relieved to have a Mom take over as well! Lol.

Milk? Nice Venus Hmm I've never heard that before, I will keep that in my back pocket. LOVE collllld milk :) Hope your foot heals quickly. You're such an amazing soul <3
Puck please don't drink. Just imagine the way you will feel when you inevitably wake up after passing out. You will feel crappy, pounding headache, dry mouth, thirsty af, and just wanting to drink more to make it go away and then the days of drinking ensue. Watch a movie about alcoholism or a show. Leaving Las Vegas or Intervention are good ones. Hope you beat the AV.
Hope everyone has a soberiffic evening or morning depending on where you are. #TeamJuly :grouphug:

One of my favorite gamers on Twitch jumped off a high rise in Austin, TX recently. Dude was worth millions. WTF?

Dee74 07-18-2020 06:44 PM

I'm sorry for your loss Puck. These are tough times for everyone, rich or poor.
