Class of April 2020 Part One
I wonder whether everything going on in the world has bought home in some way that life can be short - especially when not able to see loved ones.
JustTony, I have been in so many classes, I've lost count. I keep coming back though every time I relapse. I most likely would be drunk right now 8am on a Tuesday morning if I hadn't been posting here multiple times a day the last week.
State of Emergency for the province of Ontario has been extended another 28 days here. That was expected but it's hard to grasp that the complete shutdown could continue into the autumn and beyond.
I will not drink today.

Welcome ee and Luna! I'm glad you're both here.
Tony, I was in the August 2018 class with you and Red and a couple of others from this class. It was a great class, I go and read there from time to time. The April class will be just as good. We can all make this our last class and stay sober from now on.
I haven't remembered a dream since I got sober. I'm sleeping really well and really deeply. Odd, I usually have awful insomnia when I am in the first few weeks. I'm really grateful. Good sleep is a huge benefit for us.
My darling grandson is wanting attention. Gotta love him, he's six and his whole life is in his imagination and he doesn't have any other little kids to share all this adventure with. So, tag! I'm it!
See you lovely wonderful sober people later!

Do you remember how we used to pass the torch from the UK, to the USA and then to Australia/New Zealand? That felt like such teamwork. Maybe we can restart it here?
Yes, I loved that part of the class, too. With us being all over the world as we are, someone is almost always awake and can be there for others who are, too.
I'm so glad you are all here. This class and really all of SR has been my lifeline. Day 8 and feeling so much better!

Hi I’m back. I’d like to join. JustTony, I really like the post you just wrote. Very touching.
I’m at the end of day 2. I was sober for about 15 months. Relapsed, sober for about 3 weeks, relapsed badly this time. Starting over from scratch. Going back to the basics.
Thankful for health and safety right now and appreciative of the people who have been there for me even though I was behaving like a piece a sh#*. Thankful for a wonderful doctor and counselor who I was able to be honest with and pull me out of the hellhole I was in. Thankful for a dear friend who got the ball rolling by kindly holding my hand and saying “maybe call your doctor?”
I’m glad to be back. I need to be here.

Curious...
As I would go to bed (UK and Europe) I would pass the torch over to the USA and Canada members to keep the encouragement and dialogue alive and as they went to bed they would pass the torch to Aus and NZ... and round and round it went.
It was a camaraderie thing
