I’m hoping our Aussie friends get some nice gentle soaking rains! I saw a graphic that compared the Australian fires to the California fires. OMG! Imagine a square that represents the California fires. The square for the Australian fires was 25 times the size. It’s a tragedy of Biblical proportions.

When I jump into a chaotic frame of mind, I’ll be totally exhausted by 4 pm, only partially by what I’m actually doing..mostly it’s the thinking that wears me out. Not going to do that today- If I did absolutely nothing today no one would notice.

Aww, thank you my friend! Love to you as well. Seems like the stop sign just flew up..and what a relief! Enjoying the day is now an option even after my new steam cleaner arrives. I’ll just take it out of the box so the Cat can play in it. And cook instead.

24 here. A little wintry mix in the DC area today but minor impact.

Life is a little more quiet with older kids returning to their colleges yesterday. I try not to take it personally when they can't wait to leave!

Yay! Snoopy dances like me. Reminded me of when we were in Lapland and I got overly involved one evening in the entertainment in our hotel. There was a big quiz going on and I was team leader and if I got the question wrong I had to get up on the stage and do that floss dance thing. Guess what? I got the question wrong but it was ok because as I told the quiz master, I'm really good at flossing. He said, 'is that what tequila tells you?' and I said, 'no, it's what sober me tells me'. And then I got on the stage and did the best flossing ever. Well, in my head it was brilliant. In reality I probably looked a bit like Snoopy but way way less cool.

Ravel, I applaud you. You are cracking me up (translation - making me laugh a lot) with your avatar casting. What with that and dancing Snoopy.... I love this thread....this is my happy place. Got to go out later to my cousin's 50th birthday party. Ten years ago I went out to her 40th birthday party, got drunk, slipped over on the dancefloor and broke my wrist. Didn't want the night to end so I carried on dancing and drinking despite the fact my arm was clearly broken. Woke up the next morning in agony. Horribly hungover with crazy looking bruised and swollen arm. That's the kind of stuff you don't see in the adverts glamorising alcohol. Thank goodness I got a chance to discover sobriety. It's giving me a chance to do things properly.... To go to parties and not act like a drunken buffoon. A wonderful second chance. Love to everyone and 24 more for me please xxxx
