Travelled an hour last night across London to get to my cousin's birthday celebrations. When I got there, the bar was rammed and people were already fairly drunk. People I thought were going to be there weren't there and I quickly figured out the only people I knew were my cousin and her daughter. I chatted to them - it was great to see them. But then they got pulled away to speak to others and I stood there on my own for a moment and was about to pluck up the courage to go and speak to a bunch of drinkers I don't know when I thought, 'I don't have the energy for this tonight'. I figured my cousin and her daughter wouldn't know whether I stayed there for 5 minutes or 5 hours so I walked out the bar and travelled across London home. Felt a bit guilty for a moment but then I was kind to myself. I'd made the effort to travel there and back. I bought my cousin a nice present and I had seen her and her daughter and caught up with them. That was enough. And this morning I got a nice message from my cousin checking I got home ok and thanking me for being there. So it's all good. The whole standing in crowded, noisy bars chatting to people I don't know just isn't my thing anymore. I'd rather chat to people when no one is getting drunk and I can actually hear the conversation.

This afternoon, I'm taking my 11 year old daughter to a vision board group meeting. We get to think about the things we want to achieve in 2020, cut phrases and photos from magazines and the internet and create our personalised vision boards. This is my kind of thing now. I'm really looking forward to it and my daughter can't wait. She's already done loads of preparation for her vision board, bless her. I've done none. Being more like my daughter may appear as one of my aspirations for the year!

Congratulations to everyone celebrating a milestone today and 24 more for me please xxx

Yes going to a tavern today would be suicide. The drinking will start at 1100 continue through both ball games, afterwards to celebrate a win, or mourn a loss, until closing time 0230 the next day.

Nothing changes. Not everyone does it, but it's par for the course. I am fine being at home, playing games, listening watching sports, listening music, eating, maybe go out to grab a couple pizzas. And as usual nowadays, early to bed win or lose.

Last week after a Packers win I stayed up way too late, sober but worn out for the rest of the next day. I really don't mind watching it alone. But we do have a theater room on the first floor.

I will call all three of my sons before kickoff, and call my sister. 2 months til I travel and see them.

Looked up vision boards and it sounds interesting.

ODAAT 4 full months today and requesting 24 more hours with a Packers win @ 0452

Yesterday was a good day. Today will be another. The key is sobriety.

I hope we all have a good sober day. It’s better than the alternative.
