Class of December 2019 part 5
Thanks Dee, and that's so sweet you getting to watch a cartoon Vinny. I hope your little boy's fever goes down, that's a high temperature.
Congrats on 30 days bob.
Had a difficult time today. Visiting my brother in nursing home, and it turned nightmarish. I'll spare you the details. He has schizophrenia. He looked so unwell.
After I left, knee jerk reaction to drink, but knew I wouldn't. The feeling was there that's for sure. Guess this is learning how to deal with the contingencies of life without picking up.
Had 3 cigarettes though. Back on track now.
Hope everyone is still kicking on.
All my lovin'.....

Morning all
Congrats on day 30 Steely and giving up cigs. You too Zura
Hope your boy feels better soon Vinny.
General January dreariness here. Wild weather all week. Main roads are closed so everything is taking twice as long to drive anywhere. Dark all the time. So utterly depressing. Nothing drink will help though. Just relieved I am not drinking as will feel twice as bad.
Going to see my sister next week so looking forward to that. We are going to get some sun for a few days which will cheer us both up hopefully.
Day 20. 3 weeks tomorrow. Seems like a lifetime ago since I drank which can only be a good thing. Been eating badly this week though but will remedy that today.
Take care all x

So much love....I will find a way to cheer us up in this very dreary weather.
One thing that helps for sure is music....so easy to pop on a favourite CD while stuck in the house or in the car...I find it absolutely impossible to be sad or worried when I am singing. Singing along that is....go ahead....try it, I dare you.

Everyone's doing so well, I'm so proud of us all..
Steely - quiting the smokes is tough, I've done it many times now and hopefully this is the last time. I never crave for one at all and as long as booze stays out of my life I will never smoke again.
I'm sorry about your bro too, it must be hard to watch.
Bob - happy bday for the other day, I can't remember if I said so or not already..
I got the news from sister that she was going back to her bfriend today, full of promises of them both quitting booze and going to separate counsellors and him going to addiction counsellors and him going to church and them doing relationship counselling together blah blah blah..
I am sure some people can change themselves but he isn't just an alcoholic, he is abusive and Controlling sober. Fair to say I'm angry with her for taking the kids back into the situation without seeing any action..
Gotta go back to work as lunch is over, will post later..

I have a real soft spot for Tom Petty bob. Picture me back in the older days, slumped over the jukebox listening to 'Refugee'.
Sorry too that sis is returning to control freak even when sober, Red. That must be hard to watch too. Not a real lot we can do about our brothers and sisters, hey? Offer the advice if called upon, but after that.....let's stay sober girl.
And too good about the smoking Red. I'm back on track now, and counting it as a glitch.
I really do want sobriety now. Wish I had been able to crack it earlier. Nay mind, I think I've got it now, and that's all that counts.
Sobriety is so damn cool.

Good morning to an apparently dwindling group. Day 16 here.
Steely, you sound so happy, and I'm happy for you. Hope you and Red are able to beat that smoking stuff.
Congrats on 3 weeks RAL!
