Still travelling well as far as drinking goes. Couldn't think of anything worse.
I've given up smoking and am on Day 5, feeling pretty angst. Not going to cave though.
Test tomorrow as have to go see my brother in nursing home to take him tobacco.
Hope I don't crash tackle him when I hand it over.

I am embarressed to smoke now, feel like a pariah. It's a really horrible habit. Expensive too.
I'm using replacement therapy too Zura, and doubt I could do it without.
The ritual of smoking, the hand to mouth stuff is really entrenched.
Good luck with it Zura.
I wish for both of us to succeed.
And we will, because we are December, 2019.

Steely and Zura - Well done on ditching the ciggies. I don't think there's any way of doing it easily so please don't think of it as cheating if you're using a replacement for now. Do whatever works I say.
I feel a bit ripped off at the moment. I've been hearing and reading about this allusive pink cloud. I wouldn't mind a bit of that about now. I'm okay though. I finally shed some tears for my friend. I was starting to wonder why I hadn't cried even though I was heartbroken. I think it's a process and it eventually caught up with me. Being back at work has at least kept my mind busy. I tend to overthink things at times. I'm working on that.
Anyway I hope everyone is well. I'm tracking well here on day 30. I seem to have broken the 5pm habit. I still have a drink but it's a sugar free lemon cordial for me these days. Turns out by 5pm I'm just thirsty more than anything else. Still taking it day by day though.

Thanks Sushi. Steely and Zura-I wish you a lot of success with not smoking. I've never smoked, but after watching my father, I know it is terribly hard to give up. Whatever it takes guys.
I am at 2 weeks today. No celebrating. Just hoping to ride my current acceptance of never again, as long as possible.

Don't have a lot to say outside of my being very grateful to have finally understood (for the most part) that I don't have to punish myself any longer. Don't have to destroy myself any longer. I'm ok as I am, though a very slow learner.
I look forward to spending whatever time I have left on this planet of ours with integrity.
I'm trying to create a word meaning both integrity and sobriety. For myself, both are linked inseparably.. Maybe I'm just tired.

Haven’t checked in in awhile. 28 days for me now. Unfortunately, I will be spending the night sleeping with my 4 year old with a 102 degree fever. It’s not all bad though. He gets to sleep in the “big bed” tonight and I get to watch a cartoon movie.
