24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 451
Sometimes it is hard to keep it in the moment when we get so anxious, I know.... s.
I love this....my friend in NA taught it to me years ago, and I always use it when times are tough for me: Keep Your Head Where Your Hands Are. Taking that literally can get me through....just one step at a time and it will all get done. s Which is what you said, I know.....
This just helps me to stay centred.
OK....more coffee for me, decaf for you.
Thinking of you and sending love. xx
7:19 am - about to wake up the kiddos and start the day.
Feeling rather "blah" these last few days.
I had my largest Birthday gathering yet on Sunday- 14 people came over. I had never hosted such a large group and didn't realize that I wouldn't actually be able to enjoy myself like the guests did. Because I invited my friends from work and had never hung out with them before, I spent a lot of the time trying to make them feel comfortable. I wish I could say I enjoyed myself but I really didn't.
Husband and I aren't getting along- it's not that we are fighting, we just act like total strangers in our own home. I know it takes 2 to tango and I'm not blaming him- just discouraged by the way things are going.
My birthday is tomorrow. We leave this afternoon for the beach and will stay in a hotel tonight and head to the beach early tomorrow. I can't wait to slip my feet in the sand. We'll spend the day at the boardwalk and hopefully meet up with some friends who are already there- then come back tomorrow night.
Saturday I am off and as my birthday gift to myself I am doing a live stream meditation with my favorite spiritual speaker, Dr. Joe Dispenza. I cannot wait.
I also got myself a sensor which measures heart coherence from the Heart Math Institute- I need help with emotional regulation and hey, maybe this will help me love my husband all over again. We shall see.
Happy Thursday everyone- grateful to be sober today and abstinent from compulsive overeating.

I am the same....gosh, I will never forget my 40th. What a nightmare...I ended up so distressed over trying to get the different people there to speak to each other and be comfortable. It was so not fun.
But the beach sounds lovely....I hope your birthday is a beautiful peaceful day dearest Sunny. ♥♥
(So that's 3 SRs who have a belly-button bday tomorrow that I know of. ).

Dee encouraged me to post more often and explore different forums. I' m not comfortable offering words of wisdom, but I do want to be supportive of all of our SR family. Hopefully, this will keep me on target.
I'm in for another 24.. I'm at day 50 today, whoop whoop! Day 5 no nicotine also and am feeling way better.
Sitting outside in the sun eating raw veges, there is a lot of heat in the sun, its 16 degrees celcius and its the middle of winter! Poor plants are getting all confused..

Don’t be too hard on yourself Optimist!! Look @ it this way or rather even your perspective; that verse as signature should offer not only encouragement but to overcome anything God has called us to do. I used to think Paul meant to do anything, however it’s to what in our hearts is the right thing to do or not do.

thank you! It’s our monthly board of directors meeting. I’m at their beckon call for 48 hours hosting breakfast, lunch, dinners, all the printed materials, resolutions, etc. basically anything that is stressful and oh so many logistics. It used to be a huge trigger. The anxiety of getting through it. I’m proud to say I ride the big wave today and never crashed or fell off the board
7:58 am in California and checking in for another 24. We returned from our whirlwind vacation/college visit road tour yesterday. We drive 1500 miles in the past week, saw seven schools, and fit in some beach time, and hiking. My daily step count was over 15,000 every day, so lots of walking.
My oldest daughter got to meet with a college coach at one of the schools. He spent an hour and a half with her. She’s entering her junior year now, he told her if that school is still one of her top five in the spring of her junior year he would fly her up for an official visit, which is pretty exciting for her.
It’s a beautiful day here, I am going to go for a walk now, and then later today we are going to the horse races, maybe I can win back the money I spent on vacation. I am at a conference on Friday and Saturday, and back to work for me on Monday.
Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great day, and congrats to all celebrating a milestone today!
