I was telling my husband about my list of injuries over the years....all sober mind....so so dumb. Cut my hand open while cleaning out the fridge....remember when peanut butter came in glass jars? And the jars were great for storage....I put two down together too hard on the table, one flew off, landed hard, broke and stabbed me in the soft thumb part....oh yeah....I forgot to show Nick that scar.
And of course the lump in my finger from using a giant knife to slide the lead out of a derwent pencil. I was 11. And there was electrocuting myself (at 7) because I was fascinated with the TV plug.....12 was the car cigarette lighter....the car was off, but they used to work anyway....checking out my dad's fancy new car, and wow, what is this, and I still have the burn scar on that finger. 12 was also when I broke my hand chasing my best friend at school, and she ran into the tennis court and slammed the gate.....almost....that was not fun at all.
My famous injury where Venus bit my leg open to the bone....not her fault....long story.....and I gave myself a hairline skull fracture in my own hallway in my tiny little flat because I was moving too fast....sober....unbelievable. And I dislocated my jaw after falling on the ice here my first winter.
I decided this morning I am going to be more careful. I can just hear Kathy laughing at all of this, and also explaining to me that it is time I treat myself with more respect. She may even tell me that I need to love and value myself more, it's truly time now. s

. Take more care and do things slower. I’m just repeating what Mr.M used to say to me, because of all the little accidents I had, caused by my rushing or not taking enough care.....I too can hear Kathy saying those words.

Vee, your list reminds me of all the ways I've beat the crap outta myself over the years.....and sometimes alcohol wasn't even involved....Hope your elbow is feeling better
