When I end up with extras, it often gives me a great feeling to give them to a stranger, like to a clothing giveaway. Those are the best, but it’s also nice to put them in a box for the poor or veterans ‘ families. The lowliest looking box, the more joy that will probably come from the unexpected reception of such a lovely shoe.

I meant to say too - if anyone wants to write a memory post for Gilmer in the Memory Garden Forum, please feel free to do so.

Someone can start a thread and anyone else can add to it ...if they like.
I feel as if I've contributed enough threads there for now

I dreamt of her last night....she was talking to me about plants. Telling me about her one sad pothos, and how she had a "black thumb" where I have a green one. She was telling me this again, and smiling big this time because well, she ended up getting that little plant to thrive, and we both know that.

When I first heard this song it was for an art contest that Shinedown was holding a few months ago....it made me think of Gilmer

Duffster, that happened to me yesterday too!
I read Kathy’s response in a thread, and it was in her last few months on earth and she was so lovely to the hypothetical question what was being asked. My heart filled with love for her.
