24 on this Friday morning from DC.

I'll second that sentiment Wiscsober. I like my after much better. And my son is flying home tonight from U of WI for the summer. Can't wait to see him and glad they still come home!

Have a great day all.

And I work from home tomorrow so there is no kind of constraint like that.

Anyway I'm sure it will pass. Getting through the day. Helps me to post.
Hello and welcome dear Maria.

I had exactly the same trigger. It was in fact my biggest. In early recovery, I spent a ton of time in the chat room here....we used to have meetings twice a week, it was awesome...Opi and then a few other wonderful members chaired....anyway, I asked my friends here for help. I had NO CLUE how I was ever going to be able to make dinner again....my routine was to come home, put music on and make dinner. Of course, with wine.

So what to do? Change things up was the suggestion. Change my after work/pre dinner routine. So I did. I would come home, change and go for a walk in the park or on the beach, for about half an hour. The effect of this was huge....I felt just so good. So then I would go home and put the news on and make dinner. A change. Music after dinner was never a problem for me, or in the morning, but for a long time I stopped coming home and turning it on.

This might sound silly, but it made a big difference to me. ♥♥

Minion, my best friend at uni was from Preston and I visited her there a few times. I wish I could say I remember more about it but I was young and there were pubs and I'm me so each visit was a total blur. I didn't know you're originally from the UK, Minion. Sometimes I wish we could all meet up and have a good chat. I'm fascinated about all of you. There's so much awesomeness on this thread.

Stay strong Maria, the craving will pass. They always do. Even the really strong ones. Focus on waking up tomorrow hangover-free. Deal with tomorrow when tomorrow comes. Today just deal with today. And post here as much as you need. It's almost 10pm here and I'm off to bed. Night everyone xxx
I feel exactly the same way. ♥♥♥

And I love your advice kent....focus on tomorrow...the cravings will pass because they always do.....that is powerful knowledge that we build as we go....and there are lots of awesome tools here.

This is an amazing thread:

Good morning,

It’s a good day-my Mother was discharged from ICU last night and moved to a regular room after nearly 2 weeks there. She has to learn to walk, eat, talk and do everything again but she’s stable. I slept well. Plus, Dad is going home from rehab today. I’m still way too busy after work but things are settling down soon. Good news! Very happy. And happy to be sober on this very chilly Friday. I would like to cook some soup tonight ..maybe lentil? It’s probably the last cool day till November. Much to celebrate!

24 for me please and thank you,

Xx

Such wonderful news dearest Red.
I know your mum is strong because well, she's your mum
Sending prayers for her continued recovery, and for your dad as well.

And yes, I was also thinking soup tonight, but I am not cooking it. I have this amazing fodmap pumpkin soup from Australia that is SO SO good....

So much love honey. ♥♥♥

This is my soup....it really is as good as it looks in the picture.

In Australia, butternut pumpkin is a big favourite for soup, you guys call it butternut squash.

EDIT.....although I am now one of "you guys", so hmm.

Suze, butter it squads soup is among my favorites. I sometimes make it from scratch but the boxed soup is so darn good and easy.

Count me in.

Lots of love to all.

Congrats, Milestoners!
