Good afternoon all.
Just having a little rest before picking Melly up from school. I've managed quite a productive day (not very but my default has been zero for the last couple of months) and I haven't eaten any sugar or bread. That is about as good as I can manage. The anxiety has ever so slightly eased and so my general level of fear has too.
I have been talking a little about my depression and anxiety and keep being told that resting and hiding away is okay because I'm so bad but I know deep down that it just feeds my symptoms. I'm not ready for some things but I must try and restart the things that make me feel more well. Better food, better self care and a little housework. God it seems quite embarrassing that as 47 year old woman still has to force herself to shower and clean her teeth some days but that is my reality.
So I'll walk down to collect Mel from school and tackle the first recipe from my new cook book when I get home.

I am older than you and still have these issues sometimes. I think we get points for being self-aware. I see myself....see my weaknesses and areas I need to improve. And life is a journey filled with learning....this is good I think. Growth is good. Growth opens doors for us and makes life possible in wonderful ways.
Anxiety sucks. My biggest enemy. I get completely agoraphobic and it can be a week at a time before I will venture out...really....not good. Not sure where the information is coming from encouraging you to hide away. In my experience, that is NEVER a good idea....it is a good idea to rest though, and do things in small manageable bits....I know that works for me.
