When I was about 20, my dad actually took my car keys and refused to let me drive when I got completely hysterical about a huge huntsman that was running around the outside of my car (for like two days...it kept appearing on the windows or mirrors, really).

My sister and I found the spider that night and put it way way away from my car.

I think that plan is extremely good dear Bobbi....and very wise.
My heart is breaking over what you went through on Monday.
Absolutely he has to put the work in. And I hope with all of my heart that he does.

So much love xx

Working on my startin' fluid!!! Short work day for me as we head into the Good Friday / Easter weekend. I was wondering what I should do with my extra free time - I've decided I'm not making any real plans. I'll sleep, read, watch TV, go outside, hop in the pool, and try and eat well.

Interesting chain of events for you, Bobbie - sounds like a reasonable accommodation now.

Purps, Suze, BBG, Lillian, PJ, 13th, Caramel and everyone else - Have a Great Day

Sounds like a good plan Bobbie

My bff sent me a text the other day....she's like "My neighbor found a mouse in their garage and now I'm afraid to go outside!" (LOL I think she's crazier than I am)....she's all freaked out like "What do I do?!?!" I said "Get some cats!"

Prayers sent B.

I was driving in just dark evening to go to a meeting a few nights ago- and a LARGE huntsman appeared on the windscreen- always at eye level. I knew it was on the outside, but that survival adrenaline kicked in- before I could stop them- the wipers swooshed it away. Then a few hours later- the plucky big fellow ran down the wet windscreen- 60k an hour. He deserves to live.

Been feeling very flat, tired, sore last few. The donor site was in the groin (they get the best full thickness grafts there) and saw the incision line on my 2nd out/p appointment. 7 inches long- thought for some reason smaller. LOTS of bruising as well. AND of course the self flagellating voice kicks in that I am lazy and real people do not get tired from such procedures. Stupid voice. Apparently the graft will take 12 months before it is entirely functioning.

Oh joy.

My little finger now- at least when not wrapped in bandages- sits in a normal position. This was the 22nd procedure I have been through- and I believe the general a's take longer to get over- and affects my moods.

First world problems.

That inner voice knows nothing
From what you're writing, I reckon you're doing better than most post op, J.

Checking in for Friday evening ~ is anyone familiar with the store Five Below? I bought myself some really cute stuff today.....stuff that I can totally live without....but for five bucks an item, that's when my Dad says "You can buy that and throw it away!"

We have those stores around me, Purps - Kind of like a slightly upscale Dollar Store!! I do my shopping almost exclusively at Home Depot or on Amazon

Glad you found some stuff you like - I like your dad's philosophy too!!

lovely purp
yes car is called 'bloke'....quite fitting.

My cousin, who is a friend of my youngest adult son (was his boss) invited me to go to her parent's place (they are my NOK since bro cut me out) for lunch. The inner voice informed me no- it was a gesture made out of pity and best for all if I stayed home and isolate. Stupid voice- of course I am going, although the inner feelings tell me this is a fight/flight event as it is out of my comfort zone. I have known this fam my whole life- them often rescuing my deluded very damaged family of origin many times- so why these feelings? Conditioned lifetime response. I suppose 3y is not enough time to wipe out decades of this.

Then my home group meeting.

Have a great, safe Easter Saturday all.

Made it through the lunch. Good people- despite their differences- they stick together as a family. Interesting to note- my bro, who died from multiple organ failure from alcoholism aged 42- we unplugged his life support- my cousin's family were told by my parents at the time my bro had been beaten up by bouncers. I am learning a lot about my family from people outside my family of origin.
Then went to my homegroup- made myself go, tho a migraine aura started- took my migraine med and made it through OK.

Present, Purplrks3647

I am learning a lot about my family from people outside my family of origin.
PJ, I expect we can all do that, if we make that contact.

Through an old letter that I inherited and shared I was able to clear up, for a distant relative, a family mystery/disappointment that had endured over four generations and thousands of miles' separation.

Ten years ago I'd barely heard of any of those people.

But the truth has a way of coming out, and setting us free.
