My two-week train tour of the American west is running down...

I'm in Portland today, going to the Oregon Rail Heritage Center.

Couldn't be doing this if I weren't sober!

There’s like this point of diminishing returns where working more and harder doesn’t help, and I’m past that point...maybe you are too. When I do a bit less, and care a bit less, I am actually much more efficient. I ate lunch today—took an hour and a half, ate supper at home and now, the great mysteries and stumbling blocks of this project are dropping off. I suddenly know what to do.

But not today. I’ll eat all of my meals tomorrow, take walks at work and actually take the weekend off. How bizarre! Actually...haha I’m just not good at taking care of myself.

Sending you much support and I hope you can relax a bit too...it works.

Committing to another 24 hours and making plans sober weekend plans, especially regarding food. I'm contemplating going to AA meetings because I need a verbal outlet. SR has helped and I respect the privacy. But I feel as if I need to add something too for long term sobriety (which I have never had). This AV voice is a little louder now, creepily saying "you can be a social drinker like other people." So, I have gone back and read my early posts as well as the journal entries about withdrawal in my early days of sobriety.

Daily meditation for all of us: "I'm celebrating our common release from the hell of drinking in the next twenty-four hours."
