It takes a while to mend fences i think Wendy - I never meant to hurt anyone but I did when I was drinking.

I think some of the responses I got were cruel and unfair when I look at the bg picture but I can't really manufacture a relationship out of nothing - it takes two.

Some of them I've reconciled with and some I haven't.
Just gotta keep on keeping on, or as Kathy might say foster an attitude of KISS MY FAT BUTT

I know PJ has a little bit of contact with one of his lads recently - I hope the same will happen for you too Wendy - you are a good person and thats the kind of thing that endures

I LOVE this post....just so much. ♥♥♥

Same....all the way....

My younger sister who was my best friend my whole life has decided she hates me now.....and as hurt as I was, dang I have tried hard to change and if it is not good enough for her she can do what Dee said. Well, what Kathy said.... a lot.

Wendy honey.....this is a new year and a new beginning.

You are sober and we are so proud of you and so glad for you....the girls will take time. But you have your husband and parents and gorgeous animals and ALL OF US.

So we are going to celebrate your birthday. I am putting my thinking cap on....

You deserve all the love in the world honey. ♥♥♥

Suze, just making tea and thought about what you said. Thank you again. They are very nice doctors and I’m sure and hope I can stay calm. Finding my inner strength, think it’s gone on its jollies.

(((Mags))) ♥

If I was you I would call them and have a chat....I think you might find they intend to give you something to help keep you calm....or it may be an option....not offering any medical advice of course.... but maybe have a chat with them....I know I had options available which I mostly said no to....but it was good to talk about it.

Prayers, Mags

No, Wendy- have not heard from my son again. Maybe I will, or....either way I am glad he is doing well in his life and I will just have to get on with what I have to do and count my blessings.

Small steps.

Thanks Suze, I had an appointment last week with the specialist, where we discussed any eventualities. He said if I have a reaction to the local anaesthetic I can always have general anaesthetic which I said no, I didn’t want, not until I’ve finished having all my tests and can be treated with medications accordingly.
So I’m just hoping that I don’t have any reactions to the local.

I guess that is my worries really and having a hollow needle put in my pelvis! Lol

Sorry for the rambling on and thanks to everyone. I’m sure I’ll be ok.

As my friend says, It comes to pass.

Infection down thanks Mags. Swollen- as it does in heat (42C last 2 days, 0045 Thursday here)...most of the lymph drainage stuff was burnt off and that arm des not sweat- most of that side being a biopolymer/natural skin blend.

I relate to the G/Anaesth bit. I wanted an arm block (local) for the hand surgery, but it was too complex and agreed to it. wanted to watch, although I doubt they would have let me. VERY different this time though- the last round of ops- I was wheeled in and carried over to table- this time I walked in and hopped on the slab myself.

Pj, I was going to ask you if your pain is worse on hot days. I remember when I burnt myself when I was 14 . My hot water bottle split as I pulled it up over my legs.
I had just filled it with boiling water.
I got 3rd degree burns on both my legs and it was more painful than anything I have ever experienced in my life.

I can’t even begin to imagine the extreme pain you have gone through.

It took so long to heal and was very uncomfortable on hot days.

I remember the bubbles and the green puss that went on forever then scabbed up.

This was nothing compared to what you had obviously and I just am blown away how you managed to survive such an ordeal.

You are truly amazing.

I have just been looking through all your art.

I especially loved the ones you shared with all of us on Kathy’s Path xxx

Xx

Crikey PJ, you wanted to watch the op on your hand!!?

All I can say is you’re one brave dude! Well, I knew that anyway, but you’re a braver duder

Ooh Snooz, that sounded painful. Do you still feel sensitivity on your legs.

Hi Mags, no I completely healed after about 3 years , no scarring at all.

Suze, I’m sorry you don’t get on with your sister now, that’s such a shame.

Maybe living so far apart might strengthen the bonds a bit in time. I hope so love xx

Croissant, the walk was amazing, I love doing spur of the moment things now. No longer sitting around, feeling sorry for myself. I’m in a good place xx

'Duder' Mags? I like that. When I asked for my little finger to be amputated (as was then, the recommended next step, but they changed their minds) I asked to watch that. It helps, to see the process through. I do the same now with needles, or did- when recaching my goal of donating an equivalent amount of blood products back to Red Cross I used (which I did).

That is on hold at the mo- as surgical procedures are a thing they watch in donating. I have a kids fake tattoo sticker (backwards with backing on it) quietly on display and hard to notice on the rear window of my car that reads 'bloody legend'. They gave it to me after my 10th successful donation (15 visits- 5 no go's).

Hi gang!
Hope my Aussie friends here get a break from the heat.
We will be getting some snow and ice this weekend.Hard to believe you guys are in summer and I'm sitting by a wood stove typing this.
My daughter will be going back to college this Saturday. I hope she has nice weather for flying to Florida. I always get a little nervous about these trips.
She's had a lot of fun through the holidays playing with Toby.

PJ, I like the sticker! I remember seeing part of an operation on tv and it was on a doctor who decided to stay awake all through it and have a running commentary and conversation with the medical team! I think it may be a rare few who want to see their own operations Brave too!

Bob, glad your daughter had a good holiday, I hope her trip back is in good weather.
