12:31 pm in California and checking in for another 24. My car is at the second repair shop of the day. I took it in this morning because the brakes have been making nose, and I know I need new ones, I probably let it go too long. The first shop found a laundry list of things to fix that would cost $1600, or $935 for just the brakes and one other thing. I picked it up and brought it somewhere a friend at work recommended and it's there now , I'm waiting on the estimate. I want to tell them please just make sure the car can stop, and will not blow up while driving. Everything else can stay as is.

Gosh Delilah honey, that's a hard thing for a mechanic to do.....they want you safer than not blowing up. I hope the second guy is more reasonable. Seriously, did he see you? You need to smile at these people and they will be hypnotised... ♥

Independent mechanic shops should be more reasonable. Dealerships usually charge the most. I do most of my fixing myself now, which saves quite a bit.
