This morning I started searching the internet for more tools for my sobriety tool box. I need to start practicing mindfulness again. Okay so that’s nothing new but, I stopped practicing it a long time ago.
Then I read an article on 15 ways to get over negative emotions. I know negative emotions have led to most of my relapses. The first way listed was pretty simple. It’s “look up”. What are you doing when your in negative state of mind? Chances are your looking down. Looking up helps brings you into the now. It helps force you to live in the moment.
The author was right. I can remember going on long walks, getting home and, being in a very bad state emotionally. I also realize I was looking down at the ground almost the entire distance. So, hers to looking up.
Congrats to today’s celebrants and all who are sober today!

24 more for today. Need to eat better and more consistently. Woke up today feeling straight up hungover because I keep forgetting to feed and water myself. Definitely need to adjust my attitude for the day but no time for a hot shower, off to work I go. Congrats milestoners!
Oh, my work week begins today. I have to turn in my very first ever evaluation on my trainee. I should have been working on it the past few days but decided that brushing, bathing and spending time with the dogs was a more rewarding way to spend my days off, oh and avoiding all other housework! Mission Accomplished!!

Good morning! I am so happy to be here with all of you and to celebrate 2 1/2 years of sobriety!! Why stop now? 24 more please.
Last night was nerve wracking with bad storms and severe flooding in our area. I'm grateful that we had minimal damage to our property. Others were not so fortunate.
The sun is out today and the birds are chirping away. There is always Hope.
