Fifth day
The clock has just ticked over to tomorrow where I am so that is the fifth day done and dusted. Had some pretty strong cravings early afternoon, my traditional 'It's the weekend I can start drinking!' time. But managed to defeat them.
Hope you have a happy weekend

Well, let's see!
Bike ride - √
Entry hall light fixture swapped out - √
Gutters cleaned -√ (gross)
Puppy attended - √ (sometimes gross)

Now I only have to get my fishing gear ready for a camping trip!

Day 17 now. Pounding headache this morning and feeling pretty lethargic. Got a long day at work and then a bit of a drive afterwards but determined to just plough through. Hope everyone has a nice sober Saturday!
Mornin' all! Due to a crazy week at work, I have to head in on a Saturday and put in a few hours. Not to worry. Feeling refreshed, happy, and confident. Will get 'er done and enjoy the rest of the day.
Congrats on Day 2 FallingLeaves. One step at a time. You've got this. If you don't think so, come here often, and we'll straighten you out!
Talk to you fine people soon!

Thank you! It's a gorgeous day here in Norway and I have been out in the yard, taking down overgrown shrubs and bushes. I've done some weeding too, and I have scrubbed the bathroom and done some housework. Now I'm preparing dinner for the family, and I just love the way my DH looks at me today. He's proud of me, he loves that I made the decision to stop drinking and he is so supportive.
Back again
Hi guys
I'm back again with my tail between my legs Suffice it to say i've reached the end of the road in my drinking career .My health and relationships are really suffering now 😣
I am hoping to be here for good this time 🤗😚

I must admit I had a few urges today. Not really sure why ... so I confronted them head on by cooking fish deep-fried fish in beer batter. That involved buying a beer, leaving it until cooking time, opening and pouring into the batter, then emptying the rest down the sink.
I'll be honest, I took a sniff before I emptied it down the drain. But I'm not giving up on one of my most delicious meals. Tomorrow I'm probably going to be cooking vodka linguine for dinner. Also delicious (and don't worry, the alcohol gets boiled off during a frying step). I always have that bottle in my cooking cupboard.
I know these things must sound risky and too tempting, but I want to continue doing the things I enjoyed before, but not drink when I do them. If I change too much I feel depressed and the weight of the task ahead. The real temptation is that I could be at the shops and back with cold drinks in 10 minutes anyway.
There's nowhere I can go to get away from easy booze, so I just have to say no every day. Tomorrow will be a week. It's working!
P.S. Thanks for the great posts, I really feel like I'm part of a team.

Day 13
Had two vivid drinking dreams last night. Was so grateful they were just that, dreams. Woke up sober, and fresh for this day.
To those returning, glad you came right back.
Had a moment this am, got really angry about something, and av was right on it. Lying in wait for my moment of weakness. Well, its not happening today.
Wishing all a sober today.
