And I know that meditation quote isn't from the Big Book, Bobbie, but every time I see references like "John Barleycorn" in there, it reminds me of how desperately the main AA literature needs an update. There's some dated and downright cringe-worthy stuff in there. Lot of good stuff too, of course. Just my opinion.

This is what happens when my day off and payday fall on the same day:
I already had Slash, but saw the other two and figured why not have the whole set, right? Plus a dvd set of the MST3K 25th Anniversary edition......

Nope, Purple, not a complete set if Izzy ain't included. GnR was never the same after he left.

Earlier on the radio they were discussing drinking at the bar, and someone mentioned how they don't do shots on a regular basis ~ that they were for "special occasion" ~ I thought Since when??? It was always 'shot time' whenever I was at the Pub!!!
Hence my membership to SR, I guess!

I'd like to join the "meh" club. Our vaca has been nice with lots of stuff to do. But it is winding down now, and headed back home soon. This seems to have pushed my DW into drinking overdrive. It is not pretty. Oh well, I'll be okay.
Shot night?! I think this was really the beginning of my downfall. In high school, there was a bar that had 25 cent beers and 25 cent shots from 4:00 - 7:00. My usual was 4 beers and 8 kamikazee's. For $3, I could get pretty plastered. To this day, I can't remember much of anything from that place, which is bad considering how much time I spent there.
Tomorrow will be a difficult day, but I think I'll be okay.

Personally I think everyone should try it, alcoholic or not

Also in for a non-drinking day.
Thoughts going out to those who had a "meh" day. Just work hard to think it through. You don't want a day one like I had yesterday. Yikes, probably worst ever. I did have a benzo on hand to calm things down. But couldn't eat till evening. I'll take meh from here on out!

Morning all,
Day off today. Have some errands to run like taking Charlie to the groomers (she looks a bit like a wildebeast right now), banking, groceries....nothing fun. Still feeling meh but going to do everything i can to snap out of it.
Last night was rough. I must have gone back and forth a half dozen times on going out and getting wine. Luckily i was able to dig deep and kibosh it closer to the end of the evening.
Casey - I am in for not drinking too
MITA, Kiki, BBG and anyone else who is just a little down - lets feel the feelings and keep pushing through. Lets conciously choose to move forward. Intentionally even if its the last thing we want in that moment. Hugs.
