On my way home. Can't wait to see my kids. And my dog. Hope my kids like their presents. Hope my dog forgives me for going on holiday for a week. Congratulations to everyone celebrating milestones and another day of sobriety. 24 more hours please xxx
I almost lost this one! However, was able to back arrow, and then it when I realized the other thread was closed!
My laziness turned into a trip to pick up my daughter. She was away with a friend through tomorrow, but due to a few things wanted to come home, so four hours round trip later we were home. I told her she can call me anytime to come get her, and always blame me. She will be starting HS in August, and I want her to feel that she can call no matter the situation, or the time.
A few positives:
-First, she texted me about how she was feeling, allowing me to call the parent and share we had a family event tomorrow I needed to pick her up for.
-I arrived at the hotel before she was back from the event and had some time to sit and read by the pool.
-I had two hours of uninterrupted time to talk to my 13 year old.
-If this were a few years ago and she wanted to come home late on a Saturday afternoon I probably would have already had a glass or two of wine, and would not have been able to drive.
I have had lots of great reminders this past week about the advantages/benefits of sobriety. Maybe it is me trying to build up a bank of positives in case that summer AV several of you have mentioned tries to rear its ugly head.
Not going to work, I am a few days away from a year and a half, and I plan on that number continuing to grow each day.
Have a great night all.
❤️Delilah

I'm having a tough couple of days so thank you for the reminder of one of the many benefits of sobriety. This is why we come here every day I believe. Not only to commit but also to be inspired by one another and share our stories. It's amazing how powerful we are as a group. Much greater than the sum of the parts. So thank you again dear Delilah I needed to read your lovely post exactly now ❤❤❤
Good morning sober friends- It's 6:16 on a gorgeous Sunday morning and I'm soaking in every last minute before the kids wake up.
I am really going to work on being more present today and not resisting the moments that are stressful in this house. I want to be better than I am and it has to start today or it will never improve.
Congrats to all of those celebrating milestones! I commit to 24 more hours of this sober life.
