24 Hour Recovery Connection Part 261
Yay Madbird!
Yay, Optimist!
Great job, guys-
I hope all who are in the Northern Hemisphere are enjoying the long days of the solstice-
Those in the Southern Hemisphere- I just found out from my NASA app that you all have an excellent night sky scene right now! (I'm gonna have to check that out some day...)
Have been in a pretty foul mood for a few days (for a few stupid reasons). The AV even made a brief appearance- sheesh. Anyway, am very grateful that I've been building sober muscles for awhile now. That helps.
24 more hours please.

Safe travels, Kenton. So glad that you had such a nice honeymoon!
I almost lost this one! However, was able to back arrow, and then it when I realized the other thread was closed!
My laziness turned into a trip to pick up my daughter. She was away with a friend through tomorrow, but due to a few things wanted to come home, so four hours round trip later we were home. I told her she can call me anytime to come get her, and always blame me. She will be starting HS in August, and I want her to feel that she can call no matter the situation, or the time.
A few positives:
-First, she texted me about how she was feeling, allowing me to call the parent and share we had a family event tomorrow I needed to pick her up for.
-I arrived at the hotel before she was back from the event and had some time to sit and read by the pool.
-I had two hours of uninterrupted time to talk to my 13 year old.
-If this were a few years ago and she wanted to come home late on a Saturday afternoon I probably would have already had a glass or two of wine, and would not have been able to drive.
I have had lots of great reminders this past week about the advantages/benefits of sobriety. Maybe it is me trying to build up a bank of positives in case that summer AV several of you have mentioned tries to rear its ugly head.
Not going to work, I am a few days away from a year and a half, and I plan on that number continuing to grow each day.
Have a great night all.
❤️Delilah

When my daughter was young, we told her that if she felt uncomfortable in a situation, she could call us upset that she had left her curling iron plugged in and we could be the bad guys and freak out and come and get her!!!!!
Lovely share Delilah. I too find myself able to be a more caring, responsible and flexible parent. My girls are 15 and 9 so plenty of opportunities to practise this as you can imagine!
I'm having a tough couple of days so thank you for the reminder of one of the many benefits of sobriety. This is why we come here every day I believe. Not only to commit but also to be inspired by one another and share our stories. It's amazing how powerful we are as a group. Much greater than the sum of the parts. So thank you again dear Delilah I needed to read your lovely post exactly now ❤❤❤

Good morning sober friends- It's 6:16 on a gorgeous Sunday morning and I'm soaking in every last minute before the kids wake up.
I am really going to work on being more present today and not resisting the moments that are stressful in this house. I want to be better than I am and it has to start today or it will never improve.
Congrats to all of those celebrating milestones! I commit to 24 more hours of this sober life.

Thanks, Sunflowerlife; great quote.
